Yes there is only one server and there are already idiots on it ffs. G-man was tkin hi whole team :( ive got his won ID, so if the appropriate person would like it incase it happens again you can ICQ me :) Oh and who decides who the admins are and how many there will be?
good question....me being a Cs admin already I have enough stuff on my plate to start with...but ppl will have to prove themselves trustworthy and with a mature attitude to gain admin status
plus does anybody know if there is any sort of rcon commands already there..there is no voting mechanism in place as far as I could tell so we cant even kick ppl at the minute
I think Jimmy Tarbuck picks the first few admins and then those admins pick the next batch etc....

sorry i cant do anythiong about it cause a. i cant get on the server and b i dont have rcon yet :(
about the admins i have appointed 3 to keep the peace at the mo, and il get around to picking more soon......
So how did/will you pick your admins, will it be the same old story and you will pick your friends and every guy from cs ?
I personaly love FF on as its a more life like enviroment but maybe FF should stay off due to people not having a clue and the admin power, it would stop big problems, but hey you still get tyhe dumb gits who shot you to slow you down so you don't get the flag, gRRrR :( ;)

i dont want to appoint all my freinds from cs at all thankyou very much, il do an audition for peeps with admin experience and try and pick a varied sample from as a large a variety of games as possable.

well ive been pushing this game on wp for about 4 months now, so i guese i must have annoyed enough wp peeps :)

Ok Mr C that sounds ok, how many do you plan on having or don't you know yet ?
Mr Carrot do you also have the task of setting up a league or some thing like that ?
I can't wait for some real action, DOD will be cool for clan games :D
Carrot and I (I think) will be setting up a league on the DoD webby currently under construction as soon as there is a decent number of clans. Until then, the site will host general information and news about the game.

i am not sure with the FF and sensitive ww2 setting of the game i would like a large amount of admins as soon as it becomes viable,
yes we are setting up a league as you speak, but it wont start anything major until we a. get enough clans and b. the game structure changes to be more clan freindly
A recent poll came out with these results:

So i'm officially not lame. And yet when i played DoD the other night, i was TK'ing left right and center. The simple reason for this is because i'm new to the game (it being a new game) and i can't tell the difference between the skins yet.
I say it's to early to have FF on.
It is quite hard to define the skins sometimes... but so was CS. Just takes time....

I have to say i have never realy ind it hard to know a friendly from a non freindly as most maps you always seem to have the oposition running at you, also the colour of the skins give it away bigtime ;)
No one realy has a good reason to tk and i know you can do it now and then but it doesn't take a sec to check the name/colour of name .
I agree we do need some admins, but shouldn't we get some servers, well more then one :)
I think two clan servers and 4 public ones would be good.
As for Tk'ing it should go down, its a new mod and its not easy to tell the difference between sides and some of the maps are very dark, so it may not be planned. Certainly i have done my share of accidental TK's :)

just thought id have a quick blast this morning, join server tked from respawn 12 times in a row, bring console down types quit, people on the server p1ssing themselves thinking its funny, well im off to a different server to play it now, with ff off.

damn this is the problem with FF can make for a good game but can make for a very very crap one :cry:
one thing i have noticed is that when your new to a game how does blue look like green... so if your not new blue looks very differnt to green but when you are new you can hardly tell the differnce is this to do with a new form of progresive newbie coulor blindness :)
i supose its more along the lines off not being able to tell modles apart and also not knowing were team m8s are i supose with more practice you would learn and be able to identifi team m8s but majority of the people Tk on perpose when its an acident you dont take out 4 team m8s well unles sits a REALLYY bad greande ahem :rolleyes: :E
but most people like CS just would take fun out of being able to kill team m8s and it wount just go away with it most of the exsamples we are already getting is of people blatently doing it for fun and keep on doing it and as you can see most cases that people have a go at arnt acidental and every one can forgive an acident and identifi it mostly.

Ive had some experience being an admin for CS but then I was mysteriously relieved of duty when the people who ran the leagues left CS. Bah just my luck :P Anyway i'll be sticking around the DoD scene a while so if you need any admins where can I hand in my CV? ;)
I wasn't aware this was a place to aply for being an admin, but i would offer my services.
But how about turning off FF for a week or so, to let people get used to the models?
