Lom8, It really doesnt matter what card you buy; any 10/00 card will do as the data transfer capabilyt of network cards is way above what needs to be transfered so dont worry too much about this factor, hope that helps, kalimera.....

i got a bog std one costing me a tenner and my dl speeds approx 45k, and pings r 20-30 in quake3 and 30-70 in ut
your dl speed should be more m8. upto 60-70k. Read on another post that thry had same but changed their card and dl speed increased to 70k from 40k.
I,ve got a D-Link DFE530TX fast ethernet card, ir was £20 from Dabs, i was getting 90k download speeds the other day!!!. However if you're getting the motorola sb4100 it works with the USB port, if tried. If you use this it will save a few quid cos u dont need an ethernet card (or cat 5 cable cos ntl dont supply that either). The USB cable comes with the modem. :)

Naah, plug the cables in, check that all the lights are on, set NIC to automatically find IP address.Bobs your mothers brother!
BEWARE though, if you buy an new NIC card AFTER you have had cable installed, you will have to contact Telewest or whoever and tell them the hardware ID of the NIC (shown in winipcfg). This is because the DHCP server validates the cards hardware id against a list it has, if you change NIC and the id don't match the DHCP server, you won't get a connection.
Just a word of warning, cos it happened to me!
