For about the last 6 months I have been getting erratic connection quality, ping can be low (100 ish in UT,net stats)no packet loss, but playing UT or Quake 3 it is jerky enough to make aim difficult and dodging awkward.Frame rates online are showing averages of about 60fps in UT although it feels like 10-15.This is the case 75% of the time the other 25% are smooth & the sort of connections I bought ISDN for, changing ISP seems to have little effect.
System details...P3 560 256mb win ME,Asus isdn card,BT homehighway, connection optimised using Modem wizard, latest drivers from Asus installed......could this be a local exchange problem?

ring up the local exchange. Also ring up the HH help desk. The program called lnikstats which is inluded in the latest drivers might be able to help...run the linkstats line test and see what comes up. REport back here if any errors.

modem wizard..is this a connection optimizer program? DOn't use those..they're for browsing and downloads..uninstall it or something. Note: MODEM wizard..if it a program its probably not designed for isdn and will b0rk things.

Modem wizard covers ISDN cable & DSL,options are for max throughput or optimum settings for your ISP,it optimises by dialling your ISP & working out best settings.I will however reset to windows defaults & see what happens, will report results.

Will also check with BT to see if they can suggest anything.
