trouble connecting to UT

Hiya, I,ve conected to wireplay clicked on the server i want the UT intro runs with the screen stating connecting to server addy but thats it.It takes me around 4 or 5 attempts to connect to the server any ideas? I,ve done all the usual things nothing running in the background etc, any help would be gratefully recieved cya.

Hi there,

Which server are you trying ? Sounds like it could possible be a problem with lag whilst loggong on and the connection timing out. Is your net connection ok generally ?

hiya padstar i,ve got the problem with all UT servers and my net connection is generally very good. It happens whether i use wireplay direct or btinternet i recently re installed UT and had the problems before and after.

hiya again padstar yes m8 i,m runnin 436 any chance its cos i,ve got wireplay 2.30 and wireplay 3 on my system?

hi,

no, as long as you don't run them at the same time, having both installed won't cause a problem.

just out of interest, when you get into a game, what kind of ping do you get? if it's quite high, check your modem set-up as per http://www.lagless.com to make sure you've done everything you can your end.

if the same thing is happening on wireplay direct as bt, it would suggest we could rule out isp as a cause.

Try re-installing and this time only using the 432 patch for UT... 436 caused me a whoooole heap'o'trouble :(

I've got the same problem :(
I find that WP2.3 generally works, but I tend to use UT's Multiplayer menu (Find Internet Games) to play on the WP Servers, got most of the WP servers in my Favourites so it doesn't take as long to download the Server info.
I think its just one of those things m8
I know this doesn't solve your problem, but I hope it helps.
