It could be better mind you ...

WWII, you couldn't have a better theme for a game like this, thing is though, it's too fast paced and there is no team work involved at the moment.

Most of the maps need redesigning too. Having 5 or 6 ways to get through them is nice, but just doesn't work in a game with 16 players, things get a bit mixed up.

Something about it though makes me come back for more evry now and then ... some games are funny like that I guess :)

team work ona public server? = not very likely :|

Something about it though makes me come back for more evry now and then ... some games are funny like that I guess :)

i agree about the 2 many routes through maps, one or two routes make players forced together more, resulting in bigger battles and a more defined front line :)

waiting 10 mins for ppl to get bored of covering spawn points so i can actually spawn.. as opposed to sitting in observer mode is not exactly the most enjoyable game to play...

and CS had dodge maps to start with too

take vally that has no team goals on it at all the Axis have a very hard time to get to the flag point but when they take it they score 0 points if they hold it they still score nothing its a pointless map its just DM.

when there is no definable team goals then there is no real team work goona take place unfortunatly.

Christ man, rip it to bits why dont you, of course it needs tarting up, for for a "first shot" its bl00dy amazing.

I doubt it will ever get to be as big as CS, its not got the backing for a start and the programmers probably dont have access to valve like the CS guys did, honestly, someone else moaning about a free game not being "that good".

(Only to find they didn't work cos someone had left a ":" out of line 310)

DoD and FLF wont be as popular as CS because most of the CS players are to stupid to realise there are much much better games out there.

Even PCzone and PCgamer can't see that CS is infact pants.

And thats why I like it, at last a decent HL mod, or HL MP even. Ive never liked HL especially CS much although the single player was excellent but this...

fast, gory,nice weapons,great settings;a nice balance of DM & teamwork, you can basically play whatever style suits u and you have a good game.

One thing that puts me off, yep the players.winge! winge! winge!! On Omagh beach 'This map is unfair,the germans always win blah blah blah!!' followed by a series of disconnects.

Hate 2 sound like a old git but god help us if these guys ever had to fight in a real war,it aint supposed to be easy, the odds are stacked against u ,u need 2 persevere.

But I love it, still not as good as SOF tho :)

PS. Good point Intron about the flag captures I didnt even realise I was not getting in points for that,force of habit i guess :E

its more fast pace because you respawn, which is better because if you're not very good and tend to die alot, you don't spend your time as a ghost like in CS which can get very annoying when yer new...

and yeah theres alot of moaners, but you get that in every game... it does get annoying sometimes because of the bugs etc but you just gota bear with them until its fixed

Hmmmmm its only the 1st Beta and i bet its better than the 1st Beta of CS.

But i do agree that something needs to be done to stop Spawn Camping, e.g where the player respawns he or she is protected for 5 seconds or so

that would be ok but then you have the problem that some of the spawns are so lcose to the cap points and it takes under 5 seconds to get to them the maps would have to be alterd.... some need to be as of the number of open spawn points.


yes CS was a bit odd in its first incarnations and some of the maps were terible but it did pick up fast. some of th major things we have gripes with ave been noted which is a good thing and will most likly be sorted. :) things can only get better

The easiest method to get rid of spawn camping would be to, as has been suggested before, put automated gun turrets by the respawns, like in FLF and TFC. Might not be entirely realistic but it would make the mod even more fun.

All they would have to do is have a gun emplacement with a bot player model behind it which would happen to be invulnerable and 100% accurate :E

any one noticed that when you fire a gun implacement its lagggg!!!! city you see about 1 shot a second :( dont know why but its cack


also thats a good idea bot players to man gun posts cos those automated guns in FLF are crap they dont stop any one getting in they just run in and take about 15 seconds to kill the guys when they get killed they drop there greandes and then blow up and kill every one any way.

They need to kill very fast if they do at all :)
