I have NTL Cable Modem, I also have 2x PC's. I want to buy a router with NAT's enabled. Can anyone suggest the best CM Router, location and price?

Cheers,
Dave

linksys something or other
150 pounds from satan (PCworld)
Bit cheaper online if i remember right but only about a tenner

Works a treat and easy to use, hasn't been reset now in over 2 months, thats with 2 pcs permanently connected and a guest laptop visitor, which took about 5 mins from buying the pc card NIC to browsing the web via laptop.

There is a netgear one, which looks quite cool, clear plastic I-mac look alike, but i couldn't find it for sale in the uk, and no one would import one.

Hope this helps

edit :
PS. it works well with napster, wireplay although cutemx will not let you transfer from anyone else iwth a firewall, but i think thats prolly, firewalls in general rather than the linky
I don't use IRC, but manual says it works well with only one port forward required

I to have the linksys and it is indeed an excellent piece of kit. I have tried these games and they all work perfectly with the exact same pings as if you were connected directly to the cm:

QuakeWorld
CounterStrike
Unreal Tournament
Everquest
Asheron's Call

The only problem I had is that with Quake III I have to set my cl_maxpackets to quite a high value (60 or above) to get it not to drop the connection but apart from that Quake III works fine to.

Oh and this way if you don't turn off either the CM or the Router (which I have had running for over a month now) you will keep the same IP address.

What is this linksys router and does it actually have NAT's?

Is it possbible to route ALL ports from the WAN IP to the LAN IP?

Cheers,
Dave
