View Full Version : Gorkamorka Demo
Anyone else tried it yet?
I'm just downloading it at the moment. It looks quite nice :)
You can get it at: ftp.ripcordgames.com/pub/demos/gm.exe
Don't bother it's crap :(
From what i can remeber of shots on the warp.net it is mario cart meets IS76 meets the orks.
First off the demo represents an old build of the game so I'm still hoping the final version may yet turn out to be a bit of fun.
The demo lets you race a warbuggy around one track against a variable number of similar Ork buggies.
The graphics are poor and the gameplay is very limited.
You have no control over your gunner so the race consists of driving alongside your opponents hoping your hit them more times than they hit you.
Race is a very loose term. There are no laps, no start finish line, the race lasts a set time after which the ork who has cause the most damage wins.
It really is all pretty poor stuff. That's a shame cause Gorkamorka was a fun premise and a good game.
I can't recommend you 56k modemers download the 68meg demo.
I might try it, at least to get screenshots for meh webbeh.

"First off the demo represents an old build of the game so I'm still hoping the final version may yet turn out to be a
bit of fun. " Didnt know that but I agree.
"The demo lets you race a warbuggy around one track against a variable number of similar Ork buggies." yup.
"The graphics are poor and the gameplay is very limited. " Can you read my mind?
"You have no control over your gunner so the race consists of driving alongside your opponents hoping your hit them more times than they hit you." nope, press G to control gunner boy.. still prety much the smae though.
"Race is a very loose term. There are no laps, no start finish line, the race lasts a set time after which the ork who has cause the most damage wins." the demo only has the waagh battle level.
"It really is all pretty poor stuff. That's a shame cause Gorkamorka was a fun premise and a good game." I agree, I even voted for it to be made into a computer game on that survey from a while back and am surprised at what GW has done to it.
"I can't recommend you 56k modemers download the 68meg demo." unless you are on IRC 24/7, have DAP and nothing else to do :) I did it :( Then got Dual 128 ISDN for meh home networkeh :) (dont ask)
All in all it just seems to be GW trying to get loads of products of at once... rather than making a few high quality products (aka dark omens and warhammer ques)
Just my 4 am thoughs.
"You have no control over your gunner so the race consists of driving alongside your opponents hoping your hit them more times than they hit you." nope, press G to control gunner boy.. still prety much the same though.
My mistake, I stand corrected. Don't think I played it long enought to find that out :E

Yeah I agree. GW really need to establish themselves in the console and PC games market but they've got to be really careful. I don't think even the most die-hard GW fan is going to take much interest in their games if they're all crap :E
I've always thought an online multiplayer FPS based on Necromunda (with a persistent game world) would be cool. A bit like Verant's upcoming game Planetside.
Personally i think a titan sim/game would be a good idea(ok so it would only really appeal to big robot fans, but big robot fans tend to buy anything similar, and most 40k players would love to get to comand a titan) it would be good if they implemetned the titan's own AI to some degree aswell as the rest of the crew(ala b17), it would also make a cool multiplayer thing(in a warlord, you would need 5: 4 gunners and the comander/driver) and maybe they could include other race's titans(comanding an ork gargant would be a laugh and probably very fustrating at the same time.
