Me and my bro currently use ISDN. We use a 64K line each.

We're upgrading to NTL Cable soon and I'm wondering how easy the W98/ME modem sharing is to setup? Also will the performance of modem sharing be any good? I.e if both online at once will we both get smooth connections?

I'm thinking of setting up a 3rd computer we don't use just to be the one with the cable modem in and share it out from that.

Thoughts please :)

I got 2 comps sharing a telewest cm here...is easy to set up and u dont realise eachother is using the the connection unless some 1 hammers a 50/k sec download :) on one of them... i can play q3 online on wp with 40 ping run a dl in the background of say 20k/sec and me bro can be surfing on the other computer and my ping will stay at 40 ie:i wont realise he is using it.......only thing is u gotts have the other computer turned on (the 1 conned to the cm) to use the 2nd machine which is why it mite be worth u settin up a 3rd machine and stickin it in a cuboard somewhere where u cant hear it....that last thing u want is the comp connected to cm being in ya bedroom cause when the other person wants online and u wanna go to bed u gots to leave ya noisy pc on......hope this helps m8

Thanks a lot m8y. Sounds very promising then :)

One other thing. The 3rd PC is a P233 with 64mb. This spec should be ample if all it is doing is sharing out a modem and controlling data transfer?
