I tried to sign up for this today. (exisiting btinternet customer).
I got 'sorry, you are not eligible for this tarrif.
I call the help desk (50p a min) and get told..'we have server problems at the moment'.
Not a mention of this on the web site OR the freecall technical number.
I shall be reclaiming the cost of my help desk call.
NOT a very good start BT.

I just got their email about it and thought great!! 24/7 here i come. Then, in a little ickle paragraph they helpfully drop in the fact that from April 2001 you gotta have a BT phone line to access it:( Well that's just fluffing marvellous. I've got a cable line so its no use to me. :( :(
Anyone had any experience of Telewest's service?? Any good?

Grizzly, according to the Register, both AOL and Freeserve are offering the same deal, but I think thay are also tied to bt lines.
Signed up fine this afternoon as an new customer :)
Grizz, I'm on Telewest's Blueyonder £10 a month 24/7 plan.
I find the connection reliability and speed better than anything I got with BT.
No complaints here :)

Working for me, although the fancy dial up software doesn't (never has) the no. is the same as btfree anyway, so I'm just using my old dun.

Mmmmm says you have to sign up using a credit card for BTAnytime,i'm a existing BTsurftime customer and have just upgraded with no probs but it didn't ask me for any credit card details, this happen for everyone? and you all phoned 150 to cancel Surftime?

We was on BT FREE...weekend/evening access,we just upgraded to BT Anytime, they didnt ask for any credit card details and i didnt have to phone,i presume everything is okay. Will find out tommorrow morning when i check emails..
I just simply changed my tariff options over to Anytime. Did not think you had to cancel surftime? Just thought it would sort it all out automatically. You sure you have to cancel surftime?
Would be a good idea to check, they were charging me for both a few months ago.

:) From the FAQ @ btinternet.com-->
Q6. I have BTinternet for SurfTime. How do I change to BTinternet Anytime?
A6. You can upgrade to BTinternet Anytime here. As BTinternet is only payable by credit card, you will need to supply these details. You will also need to call 0800 800 150 to cancel your Surftime product. When you upgrade, you will need to download the BTinterent Anytime dialler icon which you must use to access BTinternet Anytime.
All i wanna know is if its still gonna be possible for me n my bro to connect to it from 2 different computer(100 miles away from eachother) at the same time? hope so :)
Ok, phoned the number but there is nobody there on a Sunday, Must be a day of rest or something... I'll phone it tomorrow, cheers for that info. Oh and I don't like spam Freedom m8... I'm a veggie :)

I need to know a couple of things...im on BT Free (£9.99 a month) can I use the April upgrade thingymajigwhatsit? Is it the same performance as what I have now (I find BT Free pretty good) and is it generally a good service?
please tell me, then all I have to do is convince dad :)

Ok son.... listen up and listen good!
Being with BT Free you can subscribe now to BT Anytime (24/7) and still pay only £9.99 until the end of March. It then costs you £14.99 for the 24/7 access. The only catch is (and its a ******* for me, not that i'm bitter or anything) that you will need to have a BT phone line from April 2001 to access the BT Anytime service.
Got it?? Good :E
If you haven't. Go to http://www.btinternet.com/ and just follow the links to terms and conditions.

Well it works, 00:10 dialled in and connected no problem :)
Bwahahaha! Posting at 00:29 and I'm not paying a dime for it!
At the first one to come on and say 'It's actually 00:28' earns themselves a slap in the chops :P
I'm all anytimed now, but was on surftime offpeak anyhow. I phoned 150 yesterday to cancel surftime, guy did it there and then, but he sounded thick, so I'm ringing 150 again tomorrow to check it's been done. Might be a good idea for all of you moving from surftime to do the same, rather than just assume it will get done - with no written confirmation, it's prone to problems.

But Budgie works for telewest??? ;)
Its great.
Unless U don't like pings on half-life that are on average over 2,276,998,456.
:(
Could stay on till something like 8am with the evening and weekend package anyway.
After getting BTanytime, I phoned up to cancel my AOL account. They asked me why and I told them that the lag in online games that I play was bad compared to BT.
They said that they were aware this was a problem and were taking steps to rectify it, and said I could stay on AOL without paying anything at all..not even a sub, untill the end of march. Then , if I still wanted to cancel, I can do that anytime before the end of march and wont have to pay anything at all.
I LOVE a highly competitive market..lol

Anyone know if the bt anytime is subject to the 2 hour disconnection ???
