Hello? Are there any 'Samaritan Gamers' out here?

If there are, then this is a plea to you! I'm 19, I've just received a Skynet-rivalling PC and I now own Half-Life, Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament and the newest Quake's fairly soon.

I'm new here, and would desperately appreciate a kindly player with huge amounts of patience to help me through learning how to play these games online, without a can of whupp-ass being opened everytime. Frustrating experiance? Do the woods have plenty of owls? :)

Anywho, mail me back if you've the time (and the patience of a saint) and 'stuff' shall happen.

I'll give you some free advice Katana... if losing does bother you then play A LOT befor you go on-line. The on-line crown know a million-and-one things about every game that mortals like us never thought of, and many take it very seriously.

But if you can accept the constant death and just enjoy you will meet nice folks who will teach you new tricks...
(me remembers being given a tour of UT maps by Qui, and when other folk joined the server he told them to leave us alone... and they saw the [VOID]Qui tag and agreed :E )

And then you will become part of the WP community, and then...eventually...you might start winning ;).

I lose everytime I dare to wander into a UT server...but I still pop in from time to time cos it's fun.

just play the games as much as you can, see which one you like best and try and become part of that games community etc
