Right, I'm planning to fit a large fan to my case (which will require some hacksawing and drilling :) ) or getting a new case with an exhaust already fitted. Either way, I took the sides of my case off last night and my 1.1gig after about 2 hours CS and 2 hours Diablo 2 maxed out at 51 celcius, a full 10 degrees lower than with the case on. Having fans will probably be more efficient since it will be sucking the air diretly other than letting it find its own way out. :)

yup, fans are generally better than just a plain open case due to forced airflow, my Juno P6 with 3 exhaust fans has a complete change of internal air about once a second at least (motherboard temp is rarely more than 1c above room temp) :)
Best locations for fans are behind the CPU (blowing out of case), in the front at the bottom (sucking in), top of the case (blowing out), on the side of the case level with the CPU/Videocard (sucking in).
The most common fan setup is one behind the CPU blowing out, and on at the front/bottom of the case (then add more fans in both positions).
if you look here for some examples of fan positioning http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Coolercase_Range_34.html
Supermicro do a great quality chassis with nice quiet fans [six of them which can move 22cc of airflow [something like that but it has "22" moving airflow] and they suck and blow here, there and everywhere
mind you, it cost over £300 [I use one]
I don't know exactly how cool it gets in there, suffice to say, leaving an ice cube tray with ice cubes in there doesn't melt'em, you get more of'em

hehe :)
Athough I can just about afford that I think £300 on a case is too much for me at the moment. Either way, I think it's going to be a case of getting a new case :) Basically I have all the bits for a new computer if I buy a new one. I'll get one with a grill at the back and fit the fan so it takes the hot air right off the cpu, the only trouble is the Voodoo5 blocks a load of the air flow, which is rather annoying. I still have tha gase off and it never goes above 51 now so I feel happier about that.
