Ewo peeps

A few questions for ya.

1) Is the extra cost for mobo + DDR ram worth it??

2) Anywhere selling PC2100 DDR ram??

3) Which mobos support DDR ram?? (And also Athlons 1.2g +)

I was going to go with a KT7 mobo, 1.2g Tbird, 256mb pc-133 ram, but saw the DDR ram over at OCuK, and wondered if that would be a better option.

Plus OCuK only point out one mobo (about £70 more than the KT7), I would prefer a choice, but cant spend all day surfing, I do have to do some work.

Thanks for any comments.

1) hmmm no
2) not that I know of, certainly not in the UK
3) Asus and Gigabyte and Abit, and AMD's own branded
4) the DDR motherboards give a very small performance gain - which is strange when you think how much faster DDR is
5) you could go for the P4 motherboards [i850], but to be quite honest, Athlons above 1Ghz are far better than a P4 clocked at 1.4/1.5 - anyone prove me wrong?
...love to see if you can

1) After doing a lot of research myself I would say in it's present form at the cost it is currently, no.
2) Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/) sell the PC1600 and are supposedly about to release PC2100 but Mushkin (http://www.mushkin.com) have been selling it a while and ship worldwide
3)Virtually every board manufacturer is working on it but Asus, Abit and Gigabyte have the boards out now.

I ended up going for Asus A7V, 256mb Crucial 133 cas2 ram and an Athlon 1.2 which is going to work out a hell of a lot cheaper and have nearly the same performance :)
