I knwo this isn't strictly a hardware question but I thought I'd give you guys a go :)
I have 2 comps networked, one running Win2k, the other Win98.
If I start the Win98 machine first, then the Win2k machine, the network runs fine.
But if I start the Win2k machine first, then the Win98 machine the Win2k doesn't seem to make itself available to the network. But I can still ping both machines.
Is this because it can't see any other machines on the network it doesn't bother making itself available or something (I'm just guessing here).
The other problem is with ICS. Web browsing is fine as that is set up automatically.
But I have other programs that I need to set manually.
I can put in the IP address but I cannot find any reference as to the port number I need to use.
Any ideas anyone?
