...Put ASCII pics onto programs like word? I tried it for my coursework and stuff but it comes out all horrible,

ahh now that's where you ain't likely to be exactly correct in your thinking of what you will get cos you might get lots of answers in here but that isn't the same as lots of help cos usually the answers to serious questions in here are not as serious as the question cos most people just come in here to kill time and have fun and so can't be asked to offer serious help even if they know the answer which they probably do well some of them anyway so I'm afraid you might be out of luck and better off posting where you thought you should before you thought you should post here

The problem is probably the font you're trying to use. You need a fixed-pitch (width) font, where each character is the same width. I can't think of one at the moment... but try using different fonts - particularly the 'system' fonts (i.e. non-truetype fonts). For some reason the name 'system' sticks in my head as a font...

Anyways, check through ya fonts, I'm sure you'll find one :)

Make sure you use a 'common' font (I think Courier is... but I ain't a clue really) or people's browsers will just use whichever one they feel like and it'll look pants.
