Just watched Alien for the first time on DVD and i'm noticing things i have never seen on the TV/VHS versions (i'm sure it has added bits not mentioned on the box).

It was only 35 quid in the Gameplay sale last week with the 10 quid off voucher.

Shame they sold out rather quickly though. :{

Watched Aliens last night

The special edition version has scenes the NEVER should have been removed in the first place from the original cinema version.
I mean that bit where Newts parents take her and her brother to check out the site on company orders, makes the whole film make a bit more sense. Not to mention the scene in the control room where you realise that the order came through to check out the alien crash site after Ripleys court marshall (or whatever).

*gets ready to Watch Alien 3 tonight*

Best bit in Aliens Special Edition, has to be the sentry gun scenes. They are the most tense scenes i have seen in most films. Watching the ammo counter go down on those laptops, with the sound of the guns fireing and Aliens dieing, gives me that edge that i havent found again yet. Top scene's...

23rd feb, and i should get this box set :D
cant wait.

Actually, here in lies the key flaw with the DVD - the picture quality's too good! During the sentry gun sequences the flash cuts of Aliens been shot you can see the background too clearly and it is obviously footage from the hive earlier in the film. On VHS the picture is too dark and grainy to make out the background but on DVD it shows up. Minor complaint at any rate :)

Watched Aliens last night ... that bit near the begining when riply was loading the boxes in the mech suit .. it was a bit of a give away that she would end up fighting in it.

.. also how did ripley become a weapons expert after a short point and shoot lesson with a pulse rifle?

Can't believe theres been talk of Alien box set and no mention of "that" scene in Alien - you know: the legendary deleted scene where Ripley finds... I wont spoil it :)
