Ok, suppose this is sorta hardware related (maybe should be in graphics cards). Basically, just wanted to say that buy.com are crap :mad:. I ordered a GeForce2 mx on monday using the nice £30 off voucher, on the website it says it in stock and will be delivered next day if ordered before 2pm. So, next day comes, still no email saying its been dispatched, still says on website that it hasnt been dispatches. So i email them asking whats going on. I get the reply, sorry, this product is outta stock and you must wait 4-6 WEEKS to get it. So i cancelled the order, asking about the money that had been taken out of my account (even though its not supposed to be until the item is dispatched) and they reply with 'No money has been debited from your card as it wasnt dispatched'.
So, now I have emailed them again saying I they have taken the money and if I have to I will send them a statement showing it. So, basically, just a rant at them.
Anybody else had some similar problems? or know what I should get with the money I WILL get back.

I'm sure you will get your cash back but I think you should take this further. The web site clearly states that no money will debited until dispatch. This is surely against trading laws or at least the contract made between you and buy.com at the time of purchace. Go for compensation mate. Kick up a stink, you never know.
My girlfriend ordered a case of wine for her dads birthday a while ago. See found out a couple of weeks later that they sent the wrong (and cheaper) case. We sent a nasty email to them and they sent us a new, more expensive, case free of charge. Complaining also got me a free CD from Amazon.com once.

well out of my 3 orders with them everythings been fine and im pleased cos it saved my £80
oh well u must have just had a bad experience :/

I've used them about five times now on behalf of various people :naughty: and they've always been good. I had a GeForce2 mx aswell which came next day but I was out so UPS leave a little card and ask you what day you'd like it delivered, which was nice :)
Sorry you had a bad time but yeah maybe get in contact with trading standards re them debiting you.

i ordered a mx from them, it came the next day. Their customer service has been excellent, and their email response has been great.
I ordered the MX a few days ago and it said it was out of stock on the website. They then sent me an email appologising for the delay explaining that they are still awaiting delivery. The money hasn't been taken out of my account yet.

Well, I must say that the email response time is good. But i've checked my balance and im still missing the money for the order, although, the order isnt on the statement (internet banking). So, im going into the bank tomorrow to find out wtf is going on. Im sure this probably was just a one off bad experience, and I probably would buy something else from there, shame all the damn geforce2's are out of stock for a few weeks. :(

I assume when you check your balance it's showing you your cleared funds, this is the balance after all out standing transactions have taken place. For example you may get paid direct to your account overnight, this wouldn't show on your statement but would show on the cleared funds with a gazillion £ credit balance :) The same goes for debits, Buy.com have obviously run the debit through to make sure you have the funds but not actually taken any money or at least thats what it sounds like :)

Yeah, thats what they have done. So my balance says im nicely overdrawn until they sort it out. :(

yeah, its probably what Calzor Suzay said. Thats the thing i dont like about internet shopping....no one to complain to in person

I ordered an mx from them last week. It said 1-2 week wait beside the item.
They have sent me an email telling me they are still waiting for stock to arrive. This email IMHO is good customer service. Ive no complaints at all.
Theyve obviously had loads of orders for them.
