Cache_TryAlloc error

I keep getting an error message saying Cache_TryAlloc: 252528 is greater than free hunk. :confused:
My PC has only got 32 Mb of Ram :emb: but Sierra say that this is ok.

please help I'm getting really desperate.

hi,

just like it sounds, it means there isn't enough free ram.

close down all background apps that might be running and taking up memory. hit ctrl-alt-del and end task everything 'cept explorer and systray.

have you got an onboard grfx chip that uses system ram? if you have, then you haven't got 32 meg free for applications/games, an onboard chip might take 4meg or even 8 meg of this.

bottom line is after closing all background apps, if you still cant launch it (i assume it's half life or counterstrike?) then you are gonna need to buy some more ram.
