Will 235 watts power supply be any good for a 1G athlon or will it damage my motherboard and chip or something?

Worked for me, the worst thing that could happpen is that the system locks up now n again or whenever you run a game or something processor intensive.

My 235 watt powers

Athlon K75 650 oc 935 2/5 cache 2.05 core
Asus K7V
2x128Mb PC133
Herc Prophet GF2 GTS
Diamond MX300
Asuscom ISDNLink
IBM 75GXP 30.7 Gb
Maxtor Plus 15.3 Gb
LS-120 (120Mb floppy drive)
Sony DVD-ROM
1x Alpha P7125 M60
1x CoolerMaster 80mm case fan
2x Delta's (1 for shiftin the air in the right direction and the other for extracting air out of the top of the case)

From what I've gathered the quantity of juice play's a less important role than the quality.

I got a 250W and I run

Asus A7V
1Ghz Athlon T-Bird
320Mb PC100 Ram
Creative Geforce DDR
Yamaha 4x4x16 CDRW
LG 16x DVD-Rom
Maxtor 20GB ATA100
SBLive 1024
Adaptec 2940 SCSI card
Intel 10/100 Network Card
Eicon DivaPro
Microsoft Internet Pro Keyboard (USB)
Microsoft Intelli Mourse (USB)
Micorsoft Freestyle Pro (USB)

It runs rock solid, but then I run Win 2k!. The PSU is also AMD approved.

my 200watt runs:
duron @715mhz
msi k7t pro
samsung 8x dvd
mitsumi 4x cdrw
quantum 20.5gb hd
fujitsu 4.3gb hd
voodoo bansheeeeeeeeeeee
supra express 56ipro vcc
linksys 10/100 Nic

i think the only reason it works is cos the monitor uses a seperate plug instead of a pass through one which would prolly leave 100watts for the rest of the stuff :D

oh yeah and a usb keyboard and mouse :E

the pass through plugs just draw current straight from the mains leads (it bypasses the internals of the PSU), they are a bit like the 4-6-8-10 way extension leads you get :)
