Here is the ollie tips (taken from my site (http://cheesepies.homestead.com))
The ollie
difficulty = 2/10
Ok, first off, the ollie is the most basic trick there is. It is the
foundation of your skating. Practically every trick from here on will involve an ollie.
Now that that's over, here's how you do it: You want your back foot
right on the edge of the tail, and your front foot around the middle of
the board. Now here's the tricky part: You want to bend down, then
kick down sharply with your back foot, and, at the same time, kind
of "jump". Now slide your front foot forward until it reaches the
nose. Then you want to level out the board by putting a little weight
on your front foot. It's hard, and it takes practise, but don't worry:
you'll have it soon enough.
tell me if you need more help :)
I'm starting to Ollie, its not too hard to get into the air fairly well and I don't have much trouble landing them but I can't do them when I'm moving and I don't have enough control to do any other tricks while ollying ;(
WW you are so n00 skool, there are tons of tricks you don't need to ollie for, in fact I think its better to wait a while before learning ollie so you can get really used to the board, I'm not sure how good Otherside is but before I started to ollie I practiced until I go go down a Quarter pipe fairly well, do 10 180 manuals in a row and tick-tack (slowly) up a (small) hill :E

goofy makes no difference i skate dat way
my first ollies where only landed one footed just keepin practicin you will get it in da end
Lol i started in bottles then went to decks but my ollies suck in hight only 2 wee decks.
I luv olliein long gaps at speed tho and lots o stairs
WEeeeeeeeeee bang
It hurts too much tho
I don't really have any trouble keeping my feet on the board but I can't really properly ollie over stuff either, I'm not even sure if I could ollie my whole board over a bottle cap ;(
OS, what exactly confoosed j00? :)

Yes, thats actually a good point, I never did it that way though, maybe if i did i would be better at ollieing
But still, if you can, try out the ollie, you never know, you could be a natural!
WW, it means new school ;)
New school Skateboarding is cool but there are so many wicked old tricks that people never do anymore (Like the classic no-ollie Kickflip and Streetplants)... ;(

Right, yes, but when you just start out skating, thats what you tend to do.
When you cant do many modern tricks you seeks for the older easier ones.
I didnt really know about old school stuff when i started, so all i practiced was the new stuff, its better really, old school is going down the drain.
I know but there is still quite a lot of old school stuff that is really great, I like all types of Skateboarding but I find it strange when people seeing an Old schoool trick think its a very new trick ;(

old skool tricks = tricks you can do without ollieing. those were all that skaters could do before the ollie was invented :)
Old Skool tricks aren't just non-ollie tricks they are just old tricks that people don't really do any more :)
Lots of current Skateboarding tricks have been around for aaaaaaaages but since people still do them they are not really considered old skool :)

I found the easiest why to learn tricks is to watch the learn to skate video by 411. My friend had it and i watched and learnt to ollie the next day.

i've mentioned bobstricktips.com before and than everyone went.credit. Good site though. Anyway i've got my front foot landing on the kickflip and my backs just about to make it.
Thursday=HalftermX8 days= 8 days of skateboarding.
Anyway Ollie is a hard trick and takes 3 weeks or summit.
i havent got any tips but remember back foot always higher than front.
Cya(runs away to garage and try kickflips and bruises his ankle again:))
I knew I had gotten that site from someone here, ta muchos, tis very gude ;)

uh huh, thats my video, its really good, covers tricks really well. if you can go buy it :)
ollie isnt 2/10 difficulty, its 10/10, unless you know how to do it, surely thats the same for all tricks

Thats not true! I know how to flip down 4 stairs but i still find it hard at a 19/10 on the difficulty scale.:farmer::smokin::bandit:

eh?
I think what he is trying to say is that not everything is 10/10 on the scale, surely 360 flipping down 10 stairs cant be the same as ollieing 4?
everything is hard, until you get it isnt it, its like riding a bike is hard until you know how. you just cant say, oh this is easy to do cuz I can do it, thats all im trying to say

I know what you are trying to say mate and you are right,
But on a trick tips page you cant just put 10/10 for every trick...if you were learning, you wouldnt know weather to try a double impossible or a kickflip first...
But Surely its common sense to do the double impossible first since if you can do that you could do a kickflip easily ;)

hhahahaha yes, well, how long would it take to learn a double impossible if you had just started skating?
