View Full Version : Recommend a template
I created a char spec in Life and War magics, but he is a bit cack, and I have decided to restart him, tho might go for UA/Life, any recommendations on template (dont mind extreme, give it a go I guess)?
Also whats really needed for a mage, skill wise?

Mutt a lot of people are going for the spec war/life route, very harsh template.
OG (spec critter/life) is good but no war until 26, excellent at high levels but a lot of wall licking to get war
Always go 100/100 focus and self, start with a low quickness and divide the rest between Strength and Endurance. I went for high strength (60 I think) to start and don't regret it. I can carry 4 packs of comps, one of peas, mana stones and still wear armor and drag back loot.
If I rerolled I'd go for
Spec: Life
Train: War, Creature, Mana C
Item @9 Arcane/healing/MD as you like. Personally I'd go Arcane then Healing as Attrib Buffs last half as long as others and coonstantly buffing will.focus/endurance etc. is a pain.
If you want to go the mana stone route you could always spec arcane and pick up mana C later.
Hope this helps

If you want the ultimate in extreme then I'd go
Spec Life/War
100/10/10/10/100/100
The strength would mean you could carry great armour and you need it for all those comps. Spec life and war speak for themselves especially with the new lvl 7 war.
i heard the lvl 7 war spells werent worth the castting time / cost / effort :)

Heh, well I heard that you can kill someone with one spell when there are no vulns/the vulns cancel each other out (i.e. lightning vuln 6 vs lightning prot 6 for example). Mana C obviously needs to be very high to reduce the cost but bearing in mind that with specced war you're gonna have a hell of a nice war magic skill I'd go with it.
I went the UA/Life route, and I like it, got war trained to so I dont really use the UA bit too much (will probably work on that at higher levels)
One question tho.
How do I go about making buffs last longer, is that by using mana C, AL or just plain higher buffs.
ta.
Higher Buffs.
Mana C just means you use less mana to cast a spell. Mine is around 270 buffed, and I cast level six spells for less than ten mana.... sometimes!
