View Full Version : Imo the teams are uneven

Having played around on the game for a few days, i can say imo the vampires have quite an advantage over the slayers. The slayer's weapons are a bit useless against the vamps unless you have a low ping, and when you do finally drop the vampire, you have about 3 seconds in which to fumble out your stake, run over to the vampire and stake him...i.e not very easy.

Suggestions to change this

Introduce lag compensation (dont know if this is possible) The weapons will then be much more usefull, and hitting the vampires will be a whole lot easier.

Introduce better weapons or increase the power of the existing ones. A rapid fire crossbow could also be usefull. Other suggestions would be garlic/holy water grenades. The vampires could also not be able to claw someone when they have their cross out..

Increase the time it takes for a vampire to resurrect, because at the moment, you have to be pretty on the ball to manage a stake.

Other than that it's a class game, good work :)

Next you will want auto aim with the weapons so the game will be so easy for you while you eat your pizza and smoke your fat pipe and jack off, and o-ya watch TV? Cant you play with what you got this game is fun and easy! This game is BETA, hmmm Beta means that if you dont like the way you play or cant kill a vampire you either need to practice more or make your own mod. I cant stand it when people play a mod and than want the mod to be easy so that you/they can get better at it. I understand the lag issue but if you cant poke it you better stroke it. Dont be mad but go to wizzard wars forum and tell the mod team to put the spell "wipe out the entire team and the base they reside in so you can kill better" see what they say to you. Think about it. I am BlueWolf72 email if you want, call me names thats kewl but play this game for what its for and dont ask to change the game so you can kill vampires. I feel better know....whewwwww!!!

shut up blue, im sure a lot of ppl have problems like he does and hes just suggesting those stuff, they mod makers don't have to do it and i'm sure that the mod makers want to have suggestions, so shut up and he could say watever he feels

Bluewolf, i dont know exactly what your problem is.
I was merely stating what i thought was wrong with the game and then suggested ways in which it could be improved. Of course it is all in my opinion, but even so i dont like being flamed for offering it.

having played the game over a few days it is clear that most maps will end at least 10-4 to the vampires, and it is rare to see a Slayer win.

I understand the game is in the beta stages, which is why i'm offering my opinion on how it could be improved with it's next beta release.

So just lay off the flaming, and possibly give an intelligent response as to how you think the game is perfectly balanced.

It really needs lag compensation.

If you have a ping over 150 its hell trying to kill 20 ping vampires.

There are a few servers about that are dedicated but they have terrible pings, you cannot solve this with lag conpensation as this will really bugg3r it up as you could hit just behind a strafing vampire and still hit him, and this is because you have a high ping. High pingers are good at being vampires, and LPB's are good at being slayers aswell as vampires, but if you cannot become an LPB, then you can't just say that there must be Lag Compensation because you can't hit ****, i'm currently pinging at 230 on my 56K on Ferg's VS Ded Server while NTL send me a 'working' Cable modem, but even I can be good at being a slayer. So what does that say about you? NOTHING. All you have to do is practise m8, it's nothing to do with lag compensation as that ruins the game, as it has done to Counter-Strike. With other things you have mentioned, such as 'holy hand grenades' (:P), these may be implemented but the developers (Official Beta Testers) and coders need to give something else to the vampire class if you give more things to the Slayers (Which needs to be done btw). The teams are not unbalanced currently but they do need a lot of work on them, not to even them out (so to speak), but to add to them and give them more items, such as:

Slayers:
More Weapons
Vampires:
Some Form of Enhanced Vision (INFRA-RED / NVG)
Limited Wall Climbing

Other things can be implemented and the above are just examples and they are not 'going to be done' (so to speak) but are good (??) suggestions.

hmmmm...

I don't think the 'down time' for vamps should be changed to be honest... it's usually plenty time for my trusty Father D to impale the buggers lol.

as for the team thing, I have to honestly say it's been mix n' match on our server so far... there's been times the slayers have been utterly wiped out at the spawn points and times the vamps have to go into hiding from the zealous ferocity of the slayer team ^_^

I'd love to see something done about the 2 upper rafters on vs_school though... I've had to threaten kicking some slayers for camping there... all they have to do is sit and the middle and none of the vampires can get them without being utterly gunned down and unable to avoid it; and that's when it's just the one slayer o_O

On a sadder note, I've had to take vs_asylum off the map cycle until the next beta... not being able to play for 8 rounds or more because you gib at the start of each one, tends to put people off playing *sigh*

Vampires should be given a key to change their face to the scary one and growl, so they scare the slayer, then can claw them :P

hehe yea that would be cool ,

maby father d can have some kinda holy water to throw , that freezes the vampire for 4 secs , u only get 1 holy water per round , this might balnce it abit cause its hard to hit a jumping vamp ,

Having just come off a 6 map session on my server i stand by my opinion. And yes you've guessed it the vampires won all 6 maps, and the slayers only managed a couple of rounds in total. Beefing up the slayers would do alot for the game.

If the slayers group together, cover each other and generally play as a team, they can kick the vamps all over the show.

eg. Use a downed teamm8 as bait... saw that done the other night... nasty slayer git thought it very funny picking my vamp buds off with his nasty crossbow as they ran for the only visible body to drink a bit... that is, til I growled behind him and he cacked his kecks before getting ripped to shreds :D

If the slayers play together, they can annihilate the vampires- unfortunately there are too many frag hunters in this mod as in others
