strange things happening

I know its hard to say strange things in BG 2 because it happens all the time but I fought the Lich Karanxx (hard) and the only way I killed him was to change into the slayer I can kill him when he is in his first form but then he turns into a flying skull and casts a spell that was meant to of kill me but when I die I'm still standing and fighting and I don't know what spell it cast it does it all the time and if it was'nt for that he would be dead by now can anyone help? oh where do you find that daggar that kills golems with one kill because I need it to fight against they big bloody golems I can handle one but 3 is redickours! I think I seen it in the underdark and where is the nine hells?

I have no idea where the dagger is. But I think (but I am probably wrong)that the spell is imprisonment, I had it cast against me and I carried on fighting but the death video came on.

There is no dagger, so far as I know, that kills golems in one blow, but there is a rod that will do it if they fail a saving throw vs. death (not as good as it might sound). Where you find this rod I'm afraid I can't remember, but in my experience the single best tactic against golems is the Stoneskin spell.

As for Kangaxx, in his Demilich form he has a lot (at least 10) of Imprisonment spells at his disposal. If you read the manual it tells you that this spell imprisons the character in stasis forever, deep beneath the earth, and they will only be freed if a Freedom spell is cast in the area where they disappeared. Since a character that falls victim to this spell is, to all intents and purposes, dead (and removed from your party), the game ends if it is cast on your main character. Good luck countering it - there are a couple of tactics that work, apart from those the fight is pretty much impossible :)

yep tried the patch hmm maybe I should just use the slayer my rep is at the highest and will be easy to replace

kangaxx has infinite imprisonments, for which there is no save

if u r playing solo, and u get imprisoned the game freezes and does nothing and u have to press alt-f4 to exit, if u have a party, u get the death screen

to counter imprisonment, go beserk if u have a beserker, or cast spell immunity - abjuration
there are some others but can't think of them atm

also demilich kangaxx can only be affected by +4 thaco or better weapons and the mace of disruption +2 upgraded, eg sling of everard, carsomyr etc.

To late I fought and killed him (thanks to the 2 handed sword +5 probalry the best in the game oh and the slayer) I now have 60% magic resistance permantly which is bloody good to bad you don't get the cloak of bauldarn anyway for any of use that encounter him hes worth killed hes got a loverly ahem item :)

The Rod of Smiting can be bought in Ust Natha.

One thing about Carsomyr and Kangaxx's "lovely item" is that they don't always work cumulatively - you should check every so often to make sure they are both working, and re-equip them if neccessary

I noticed that about the ring that you need to requip it and I'm sure the dagger is a true item I can remeber part of the description something like "once the golem is hit is needs to make a saving throw vs death or be completely destroyed.

Well, that's pretty much what it says in the description of the rod of smiting... if there's a dagger like that, I've never found it, but I guess that's not to say it doesn't exist :)

oh missed out apart it also says "when the dagger is not being used against a golem it acts like a normal dagger" if I can remeber I probalary noticed it in the underdark maybe in the Drow city. I know a merchant sells it (i think) but I did'nt buy it because I was low on money because I just spent 15000gp on a shield made from a comet I had little money at the time but near the end I had over 100000+ which is alot to bad you can't buy houses :)

haha now I remeber Ust Natha is the Drow city :confused: I knew Ihad heard of it just could'nt remeber where :) it must of been the rod.
