I hear Allegiance is supposed to be some kind of 'On-Line Elite'... Is there any truth in this? Is the game worth investing in?

Most Importantly, does it capture the 'spirit' of Elite?

Well, I'm waiting for Jumpgate, any news on that?

it depends on which part of the 'spirit' your're after.
If you like single player space-trading then Allegiance is not for you. However if large scale space mayhem with deep strategic undertones are more your cup of tea...then Allegiance is for you :)

The game itself is very cheap (around 15quid tops) you just need to pay online costs, membership costs are optional. A thing to note is that there is no single player features. Its all out multiplayer war only ;)
