I have a p 2 266 with 300mb ram a geforece 2 mx and loads of hdd space and I hope it will run on mine. Lionhead have just about always said that a p2 233 will run the game ok and only recently have EA changed that. So hope springs eternal.

Giants is supposed to only run on a 350 or higher but runs perfectly on my machine.

Well it's all down to different configuration and what you've got running in the background.
To squeeze all the power there is out of your system you're going to have to close down EVERY background program.
This will free up the resources and get it to run it's best on your specific setup.
I'm lucky enough to have a spanking machine (Athlon800 256ram voodoo5) but I only got that because I worked for it.
I'm only 17 and I built it when I was 16 (all saved up for by myself no less)! Just want it bad enough and you'll work for it :)

I'd say your chances with that system, especially the gfx card, would be borderline at the very best.

You'll wanna have 32 bit colour for this game, The grfx are s'posed to be outstanding, apparently a good bench marking tool is the demo of the game sacrafice

What about a P3 600MHz, 256RAM and a TNT2 gfx card? This PC was truly top-whack when I bought it last year but now, it doesn't feel so super schmoove. Black and White should have no problems on it though. I think, if you have above about 3-400MHz with a 32Mb 3D card, you should be fine.

GFX Card might be a bit oldish, although the cpu should provide some cover for it's lack of oomph.

But then again I'm only happy with fairly cutting edge equipment, hence my system. Best thing to do is wait until the game comes out and see how well it runs...

I have the demo of sacrifice and it runs alright with no probs but i think B&W maybe abit for taxing to say the least!

I usually play suddenstrike or kingpin and they run smooth also!

Just wish i could get some money to upgrade but i cant work as ion the sick :(

Now Kingpin and SS are fairly old games (KP for example uses the Q2 engine which is very much outdated).

Like I said to someone previously, best thing to do is wait until you get the game and see how it runs (ooh like a blind mouse! :P ).

My system is pentium 500 with 128 ram and a voodoo 3 3000.
My brother Cf on the other hand has: Athlon 1Ghz with 192 ram and a geforce 2 MX. :furious:

So, what do u think my chances are?

Judging by the spec details on the box, it looks like the first machine i mentioned will be able to rum it ok.

But I'll have to get a geforce3 before B&W 2. :)

Right played the game for about 4hours last night and my system is a Duron 800 128mbyte ram and a Geforce 2 MX I was playing the game at 800*600 @32 and when you spin round in wide open spaces it did struggle a bit and when you're playing the demo/traing there's quite a few cutscenes which slowed down quite a bit.

The game uses D3D so the max res will most likely be 1600*1200, i cant to try it at that on meh 22" monitor :E

I got a AMD Athlon 1Ghz, its not the fact i dont think that my cpu cant take the strain, but the fact that
Black and White is supposed to be a bit dodgy when using an Amd, and my sh1t graphics card, f*@k, only a 16m TNT2, i feel so ripped off!

Some people are having problems with the AMD + B&W. But a lot of people are running it fine with a amd, so i think the problem is elsewhere.

Confilicting CD-drive seems to be the number1 cause. Just makesure you have all the latest drivers before getting the game.
Also you may want to upgrade that tnt2 at some point, it'll work with B&W, but you wont be able to run in full detail.

I suggest getting a GeForce3 in a few months time when the price drops.

The GeForce 3 will obviously be an excellent card, but i don wanna wait too long, would ne 1 recommend buying the 3d phrophet 2?

Yeah the GeForce2 (gts) is a great card (i have one), but the problem is you'll probably want to upgrade it again within a few months.

You can pick up a GF2 for under £200. Get the GTS though, the MX isn't that good.

no offence to ne 1 who owns an mx, but comparing the mx to the gts is like putting lambs to slaughter, the mx is no way as reliable or preforms as well as the gts
