Well, seems like there's a whole month to go so until then, why not discuss which pet will be the best.

I guess in the 'open ended' nature of the game, all pets will have certain advantages/disadvantages depending on how you play. I hear the tortoise is slow but strong, making him a good pet for defensive players, i.e. as you cast 'sheild' and other defensive spells, thats what he'll learn too.

But whats confusing is, will the differences be purely physical or mental too? As the wolf is supposedely cunning and fit for the dastardly player!

I thought each pet would start with a 'blank' mind. Letting you train them as you see fit. But will each pet start out with its own personality/traits which you 'bend' into shape?

P.S. What exactly is the Sheep good for??? They could've had an elephant or llama instead(although I'm sure there's one being worked on!)

The sheep is there for all the Welsh players.

;)

Maybe the sheep will be better at the creative things, like making wooly jumpers etc?

:D

AFAIK of the three starting avatars:-
Monkey learns quickly and is fast.
Cow is protective of villagers.
Tiger is a good fighter but very hard to keep under control.
Apparently all the avaters are balanced so there isn`t a BEST one to play as.

Aha, so the pets do have their own personalities, which you build upon!

I expect using the right pet, according to your playing style, can be of strategic importance.

I think I'll start with the ogre... oh can't I do that!
Well, it'll have to be the monkey then!

Hey, I feel sorry for anyone who can't get B&W if the delivery vans aren't allowed in certain areas.

The creatures are supposed to have wildy different characteristics depending on how you treat them. In the PCZone review they say they choose the Tiger which had a habit of eating rocks and its own faeces!

Some creatures dump on houses while others eat or stroke villagers.

I also heard rumour that you can spank a monkey in this game?

I HAVE to buy this game when it comes out! :)

Unless both pets are fairly young, they will both have unique features to them.

Tattoos, scars, changes based on their alignment etc...
