View Full Version : Terminator 2 - Judgment Day - Ultimate Edition
Can any one tell me when Terminator 2 - Judgment Day - Ultimate Edition is being released in the uk, Ive had it on order from gameplay since January but when i check on line the release date keeps getting pushed furter and further back.... dvd street have it down for an October Release ! :(
I dont realy wanna wait that long... if so i would probaly ordering the region 1 disk.
Not sure when it's available in the UK, but you should've just ordered the R1 version anyway, the company I buy from are selling it for £17.99 and you won't get the R2 version much cheaper than that.

The R2 is apparently missing a fair few features over the R1 as well.
Not worth waiting for IMO, get the R1.

Thanks to this forum I discovered play247 and on 4th of this month I ordered T2:UE and it was supposedly sent to me today. Any idea they tend to take after being despatched from them?

Not only has the R2 lost a few features over the R1. It has now indeed been delayed until October 9th!
WoW! Are they trying to kill off the R2 market or what?
From http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk - 22nd Feb.
Originally due for release at the end of last year and then postponed to the end of January, the Region 2 release of Terminator 2 has moved back yet again - this time to October. The reason for the delay is that apparently the conversion to PAL is taking longer than previously thought. The good news is that the transfer is being handled by the same authoring house that put together the Region 1 release so it should look pretty special.
Momentum's Simon Bligh had this to say:
"Terminator 2: Judgment Day Ultimate Edition will be one of the most intricate and exciting DVDs ever released in the UK. This delay has been caused by the sheer volume and complex nature of converting the many extra features on the two discs. By working with Van Ling (the producer of the critically acclaimed US disc) Momentum Pictures & Kinowelt are ensuring the highest quality release for Region 2."
The UK release will come on two discs - one for the various editions of the film (only two are mentioned in the press release, whereas three appeared on the Region 1 disc) and commentary tracks, the other will hold all of the extra material which includes litterally hundreds of hours of behind-the-scenes material.
The transfer will of course be anamorphic in the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio and we'll get both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 channel soundtracks. We are even going to be getting the disc in a 'limited edition' tin case - just like they did in Region 1.

Nice Tip bozzdude, I heard there were 2 versions listed and 3 on the disc, I haven't looked at everything yet. What is this 3rd version. I heard that there was a slightly extended version of the film with even more scenes, could it be this one?

hi all the 3rd EDTION on the DVD is with all the extras in it,ie no cut out bits :).
Heres an easier way to access the 3rd editon just press the goto button then press button 3.That should take you straight to the film.If it does then sit back and enjoy all of the movie :).

Now if there was a bloody modchip for the ****ing PS2...

You're not using the PS2 as a DVD player are you?
Arrrrrgghhhhhhh
Get a proper DVD player, because the playback on the PS2 is mediocre apparantly....

Well I dont know how it compares to other DVD players but I love the playback and sadly I just don't have any money to buy a proper player with :(
:{
I even notice a vast difference in quality between my PC DVD Rom playing a film, and my set top box. And I can't imagine the PS2 to be much better (if at all) than the PC running DVDs...
