Perhaps the odd clip-round-the-ear, to train him.

But I'll try all my experiance in manipulating people on my pet....Wonder how it'll work out.

Having a pet perfectly trained to work independantly sounds like a true mission. Specially after reading those Gamespot previews. But then again, a woman, some old dude and a wannabe thug can't be the best gamesplayers out there.

I'll have my pet serving my land and washing behind his ears in no time!

First, take Garnet for example, she's not doing anything, so we assign her a life of breeding with old Peter Moleyneux, now, try the same with Curtis May and Zoe Surry. (Zidane assigns them to dive off the cliff, Hardrock doesn't bother to rescue them, seeing as it's Zoe and Curtis.)

Let's try again.
(They keep trying to assign jobs until Hardrock notices that they have yet again killed all the villagers)
