View Full Version : a CD, a CD, my kingdom for a CD... well apart from the fridge.. thats mine ;(
My mates are taking me to a Linux Open Day sometime soon cause seeing as everyone dabbling in it I thought I may do as well...
I want to get the latest version of Mandrake.. good for newbies apperntly.. or should I go for SuSe? Anyway.. where would I get these on CD?
They may do them at the open evening but just in in case.. I am asking you lot ;)
A few guys have posted about http://www.linuxemporium.co.uk being a good, cheap and reliable source (and by cheap i mean as little as a fiver for some linux distributions).
Here's a link to their Mandrake stuff (http://www.linuxemporium.co.uk/boxed.html#MandrakeStandard).
Or.....if you have ADSL/internet access at work, and a CD burner, download an ISO image from your chosen distributions webby and it'll work just like one you buy from PC World :)
In fact, it's ask for one, get one free on the links front - so here's the (free !) download (http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ftp.php3) URL for Mandrake. Just pick your download site and download it :stare:
Madness i tell you, this free stuff will never catch on....
Cheers
