Been wondering about these things for a while and couldn't find the answers on the web, so wondered if you gents couldn't enlighten me please.

1) I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer currently running off the USB port. Will I be able to use this in the Mandrake setup, or would I need to shunt it across to the PS/2 port for it to work? (I specifically mean the setup, I know it will work in Mandrake once it's installed).

2) Does Mandrake 8.0 now use ReiserFS by default? Last time I asked about it, it was before 8.0 had been released. I just wondered if I would automatically get this or have to use the "Expert" install to have it used.

3) I know Linux needs PnP OS in the BIOS set to No, and Windows needs it set to Yes. Am I supposed to keep changing it back and forth each time I boot into the "other" OS? If so that would kindof suck :)

Fingers crossed my 8.0 CDs will darken my door on Monday, since they didn't come today :(

Almost certainly you have to use the expert install to get reiserfs (which is what i did).

Sorry - can't help you with the others.

Don't know - try it and see :)

Unlikely to be the default.

I haven't had to switch this between OSs when dual booting Linux and Win95. I think mine is set to 'Yes' - but I'd need to reboot to check. I don't know anyone else who has to change BIOS settings between OSs either :)

I've had PnP in the BOIS set to 'yes' for the last year on a duel-boot machine with Win2k and Suse 7 never had a problem with it.

I agree that the only way to check the mouse is to leave it in the USB and try it, MS don't have a driver set for it that I know of, and yes you'll need to do the 'export' install even when you get 8.0
