After a good finale of S3 and great bits with the mayor and as we saw Angel leave the show to do well [i]Angel[i],
we see Buffy(Sarah Michelle Gellar)going to U.C Sunnydale along with Willow(Alyson Hannigan) and Oz(Seth green).
The season started off with an introduction to S4 and U.C Sunnydale with a basic episode(The Freshman)introducing Riley and her "weird" roomate Kathy. The episode just contained a group of (fashion) Vampires, your basic chit chat slaying style. Later, partially-good episodes see Anya and Xander returning again. A great episode which i liked on the first tape was "Fear Itself" with a cool exciting halloween episode which had all of our fun cast journey to a party which turns out to be a true house of horrors.
The series goes on with eventually an Oz and willow based episode( Wild at heart) and an Angel crossover episode.
For most of the time some of the episodes were a bit interesting but some were dull(Something Blue-i think). Later on the epiodes introduced all the "initiative" stuff
and Project 314 and the tyrant Adam plus our new friend Riley(Marc Blucas). But some were quite interesting like "Superstar". The spike and implant made him into non-spikish and on the line of becoming a good guy.
On the final tape we see the death of the vicious creature Adam(interesting scene). But the season did end with a funny episode "Restless" which sees the gang being attacked by a primeval beast in their nightmares, some funny moments in Giles dream and in Xanders.
Overall i thought the season was alright i'm bound to be probably 90% bombarded with messages like i do not agree but i'm just stating my opinion. S2 still remains a champion in my mind because we saw Angel in the form of Angelus in the later episodes.
S4 OVERALL- 3/5
