will they ever produce a bad album? - LETS HOPE NOT :E

i think its excellent - another consistently brilliant album- i really like it :D

the only sad thing is is that now weve had two radiohead albums in a year we will probably have to wait ages for the next one :(

Its a lot better than Kid A, but still doesnt surpress The Bends or OK Computer (but then what can?)

I love You and Whoose Army, my personnal favourite Track.

i liked kid a, and i like amnesiac.

both excellent albums

radiohead are brilliant

just annoys me when the daily mail (f***ing arsewipe of a travesty of a joke of a newspaper) goes on about what pleasant music the stereophonics make whereas radiohead are making 'self indulgent experimental music'.

f***ing morons, wish more bands could evolve like radiohead. i would probably say i prefer okc/bends but i'd rather they expanded their sounds than went over the same stuff over and over again. a band like oasis does 2 great albums then slowly marginalies itself into nothing cos every1 can see they can only make one type of songs. radiohead distinguish themselves from other bands, even many good ones, in this respect.

without a doubt (on my part anyway) radiohead are the best band of this generation and they continue to prove this.

and the stereophonic can f***ing die!

i agree with u there (apart from the stereophonics dying, although their new album is a bit pants, their last 2 were quite good i thought)

Radiohead realised after OK Computer that they could either: -

a) Make the same sort of album again

or

b) create something completly new

Which is what they did. The people who complain that Radiohead are making crap music now and are making 'self indulgent experimental music' amuse me because if Radiohead brought out 2 albums like OK Computer again then people would complain that they are just trying to cash in on something they know will sell (ala Offspring etc)

Either way people are never pleased with what RH seem to do, personnaly im glad they have followed a new lease of music, and hopefully with their next album another direction of music could be followed, or the music they are creating at the moment could be explored further.

But sometimes I do wish that they wouldnt cover up Yorke's voice and make it squeaky or bland, cause his voice is amazingly beautiful, such as is proved in OK Computer, and sometimes when im listening to "Kid A" or "Pulk Puill Revolving Doors" i just wish I could hear his true singing voice.

But then saying that Ive got "You and WHoose army" and "Pyramid Song" to contend with :)

OK Computer couldn't be topped imo.

The Bends was so great, but in an obviously more "conventional" sense.

Here's a thing:

Can bands realise what is progression is actually digression or, like Kid A, more depression?

Er I'll get me coat.

Sorry for being boring but like everyone else, i reckon its good. Better than Kid A, but not as good as The Bends/OK Computer.

Like Kid A it grows on u the more u listen to it. Its good to see them being constantly inventive and experimental, instead of getting stuck in a niche. :)

Any one got the ltd ed version...

Got mine this morning tis damn, damn cool. The cover of normal version is a picture of book...the ltd ed is the book. 36 pages of cool artwork presented as a library book.

I really love it..makes the album seem so much better :E

Pics of it (if you like that kinda thing):

I got the feeling that RH were a non-commercial band...whats with the book??

Gopher
07-06-2001, 23:49
i payed £13.99 for the book from MVC

they are more or less a non comercial band in the sense they don't really give many interviews and you don't see them on tv much

but they like to package their stuff well

thats the impression i get

harriersfan

yeah, really similar, but paranoid android is 5/4 beat, and knives out 4/4 :dork: or it mite be the other way round, but i fink that's rite.

i really prefer the old radiohead stuff

mr yorke whining/going into spasm on stage isn't as good as mr yorke singing
and the guitar based stuff is better...

but thats just me

Thescaryhobo

pyramid song is a meditation on an egyptian funeral yorke was dreaming about i think. definite stipe influence there hehe :)

i found kid A disappointing (maybe another case for that disappointing album thread?), but this is back up to their origional standard (tho it cant beat the Bs or okC as said below)
