All I can say is; don't watch it. Caught it in the sneak preview last night and it was beyond horrible. Some nice references here and there if you know your dracula movies (even though, stuff like "I don't drink....coffee"; you know where it comes from, but it's so pitiful when the guy says it), but hell, it wasn't even scary or entertaining (let alone the incredible huge gaping mistakes here and there).
The only funny things about it (besides about 5 minutes of incredible product placement (the main character works in a virgin megastore, the logo of which is panned over in slow motion several times during the movie (I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that there's also some choir in the background noise chanting Virgin whilst they pan))) are a couple of lines that John Lee Miller has, but the rest is plain pityable.
Hmmm.... I was thinking of renting this film, but nevermind. I think I'll pass.
I think I'll give this one a miss.
On a related subject anyone seen 'Shadow of the Vampire' with John Malkovich? I haven't seen I yet and was wondering is it any good?
I heard it's good, "Shadow of the Vampire" that is. I might check that out.

Poo. I so wanted this film to be good. Dracula is such a great character but Hollywood rarely does him justice. Gary Oldman is my favourite incarnation- a very seductive son of a bitch. I would have chosen him over Keanu Reeves pansy-assed Jonathan Harker too.
I really liked BS's Dracula I felt it was underrated when it was released. Some really memorable scenes and clever use of classic cinematic devices - the shadows in the castle for one.
Keanu 'The Log' Reeves was woefully miscast and Winona Ryder wasn't that great either but they were worth putting up with to see Gary Oldman's performance, he was brilliantly OTT. (Anthony Hopkins wasn’t bad either)
You're right it's a shame that such a wonderful fictional icon such as Dracula shows up in such god-awful films. There are precious few good vampire films these days, that's why I was interested in 'Shadow of the Vampire', the concept sounded intriguing.
Guess I'll pop down the video shop and find out for myself, no one else here seems to have seen it yet either :)
Aw, no, Yowie. I saw it recently. It was pretty good. Hope ya enjoy it when you watch it.
Finally someone who's seen it :)
OK thx for the info J I'll definitely check this one out as soon as I've got the chance.
