Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for me and the game still crashes to desk top. Any other suggestions guys?
do you type it in at the start of every session? you usually need to do that
I have it in my wp1.cfg which handles all my admin stuff
apart from that, I have no idea - it might be worth posting on the official forums over at http://www.planethalflife.com/si and see if anyone knows there. The S&I team do read this board, but you're likely to get a more helpful response (and a few flames ;)) over there :)

Dunno why it doesn't work when it does for me. There msut be some other problem, just w8until the server .dlls get updated....which should be soon (well, not the wp server...probs etc which we all know about)

Try putting this in your autoexec/config.cfgs, it's what I use:
alias +jump_2 "+jump; hud_showendgame 0"
alias -jump_2 "-jump"
bind "SPACE" "+jump_2"
Basically, means you don't have to worry about forgetting to type it in each time :)

It's ok now. I just bound it to a key, and when I remember to press that key its all ok. Thx chaps

how the hell would that work cadaver? i mean when doe hell do you need to touch the jump keq :D
/me uses mouse3 for jump ;)

Why not use they space bar instead?
I use mouse 3 for secondary fire but it proves a little awkward for the shotgun and the Tau(?) gun. So I'm going to switch them around and use mouse 2 for secondary fire and space for jump. That leaves mouse 3 free for.... er something else.

Space is still bound to jump, but its far easier in a fight if you have it bound to mouse3, and you won't be able to bunnyhop unless you bind it to either that or the mousewheel.

I don't get this big bunny hop problem, doesn't even do much...
I have mouse1 for fire, mouse 2 for fire2 and mouse3 for jump
mouse4 is use and mouse5 is reload - wub the explorer :E

mouse3 is the weapony thing. scrolly wheel for select weap, click for reload :)

/me is feeling inadequate with only 3 mouse buttons :cry:
Coming in late into the conversation here, but is this hud_showendgame 0 thingy stop the crashing when the map changes?
I know, I know, there's probably a million and one posts about it, but it takes too much effort to use the forum search thingy :E
