The first thread was, as it says, an apology. No flaming was going to come of it. I was also showing Ad3 that I was no stranger to the PSO forum. I feel I still haven't received a fair reason as to why it was closed. Please explain, AFTER reading the thread again.

I was not talking about all the thread closures, just my one sole thread I made for discussing an experience in PSO. I am not a flamer, nor do I rise to flames against me, be it in a real-time RPG or on boards like these. If you had bothered to do some research on my user name you would know this.

Still, I don't see why we can't discuss this here. I have nothing to hide and I'm sure you don't either, so why not converse in the openness of the forum. Consider it an open correspondence between the two of us, so that people may learn part of your unofficial guidelines to what is & isn't an acceptable post.

FFS Alan, because it's NOT needed at the moment. Your thread title said it all: "Me too!" I believe. There's this attitude at the moment of "me too-ism", that people want to get in early and be the new host of a forum in case the forums go under, presumably so they can be the daddy (without the snooker balls in a sock one presumes).

If we continue down this route (and this goes for many forums), we'll be in a right mess if it comes to the forums going. Everyone will be setting up their own forum and vying for members and the community will end up fragmented and strewn all over the place.

At most, we should be discussing alternative board systems, not setting them up and trying to get people to join. People will end up with a folder full of useless links with forums that aren't used.

I'm sure we'll get warning that things are going to be switched off and then we can make a choice about where we're going to go.

I know I'm not the only one sick and tired of forums being mentioned "just in case." It's a bit sick if you ask me. And why so few of you have taken the sensible route and put a link to your forum in your signature I don't know.

Oh, and I'm sorry but using the excuse "the servers may die tomorrow" as a reason to "rest" your "case" is terribly terribly lame. I may as well turn round and say "We could all spontaneously combust tomorrow so it's not worth it."


A few points while I'm here: IMO, the forum *hasn't* suffered because of excessive thread closure, I think people's interest in the game has naturally waned and people are in a lull before the PSO 2 storm.

I don't like petty arguments and point scoring pouring over on to the forums, I've said it plenty of times before - and others have felt the same, saying they prefer the friendly outside of PSO meet up place to the place to continue arguments without a 40 character limit on your text.

I admit I was confused by E's closure of Kix's thread. I'll be honest though and admit I wasn't exactly sure what Kix's post was actually about (I wondered if the closure was actually a mistake?).

I think it's more professional on both the mod and poster's side to sort out matters through other methods than the forum but understand if it's done through the forum as long as it's done in a professional way (like Kix's complaint - no, enquiry - post was).

I think that with the amount of verbage lent to this subject it would've been easier for Eas to post his reasons here, especially if others like me are a little confused. I wouldn't expect it of some other thread closures as those closures tend to be mroe obvious.



Right, now I've written a fair bit on this thread and I really didn't want to have to get involved but I have so here we are. Please, can we sort this out now and put it behind us so we can all kiss and make up or do whatever it was we did before we argued. Thanks :)

Can't we actually discuss PSO and make E happy? He seems a little, hmmmmmm, aggressive. No offence, I don't know him much and have only started posting here recently. This is becoming like some dumb politics row (well maybe not). You know, blowing it up over something stupid. Then you all insult each other and then you all get pissed off with no resolve.
