This is a sad true story that I read on the net :{ :{
Pokémon Confiscation Leads to Suicide
Cards: A U.K. schoolboy was found hanged in his home after a teacher confiscated his Pokémon cards.
According to a report in The Times, the family of 10-year-old is demanding an independent inquiry into his death. The boy was discovered by his father, suspended by a nylon stocking from a shower rail, in February. His mother says her son's problems at school surfaced when he threatened suicide after his Pokemon cards were confiscated by the teacher.
She said her son had written a letter stating that he felt picked on by teachers and was contemplating suicide. It read: "They are bullies. I just want to die, I'm going to hang myself." (extracted from planetgamecube.com)
It just tells you that Pokemon has kinda brainwashed that kid!

Wow. But not very shocking. I believe that wasn't the first ocasion of death due to pkmn cards. Poor kid...

I also read that article, & Pokémon Card confiscation was not what drove him to suicide. He & his family had become homeless & he was moving between schools lots also. That would count a lot more than Pokémon Card confiscation.
I'd heard about it, but wasn't saying anything.
It turns out he was being bullied by his teacher.
Besides, do the cards whisper messages to you while you sleep, telling you what to do and what to think? If they did, then that would be brainwashing.
Of course they don't do that!

It looks like the press are trying to get Pokémon banned again, they have already done it in many Jewish countries...

I find it tends to help to forget about reality, seems to make my life a lot easier anyway ;)
I am a firm supporter in the belief that computer games cannot influence our actions, despite wjhat the media may say otherwise. I won't bore everyone with the flow of details i've rattled off to numerous people (such as my two lovely despairing great aunties), but basically, shooting a computer sprite is a far cry from shooting a real person. Ironically, I think a good way to sum it up is from a game itself, metal gear solid.

Like I was saying before, the Jews called a fatwa on Pokémon because it was a Muslim conspiricy to influcence young children to gamble they said. And of course, the fact that it originated in Shintuism Japan is nothing to do with it :laugh:
They are just being paranoid.
They are rather strict religions to, so I'll let that one pass.

Films do not influence as much, if at all, & do not encourage that sorts of things eminem does.
Eminem should be killed.
