It's looking pretty much definite that Gameplay will not be forking out for your prizes for the competition places you won.

Now, we can do one of two things, and I want you to decide this.

We can either all walk away, quietly mumbling under out breath (I am as unhappy at this, as you people are..)

Or, I will be more than happy to present book vouchers, but I doubt my budget will stretch to the full amount you are owed. If you wish I will pay for as much of the prizes owed as possible.

I really don't like the idea of my winners going away with no prizes whatsoever.

Prizes are fun, but in my opinion, Gameplay should've coughed up the vouchers, not you. It's commendable that you offer freely to fulfill the prize giving part of the whole contest, but I wouldn't want to stretch your budget. It'd have been a grand prize, but sadly, it wasn't meant to be. Besides, you could say that being chosen as a winner is prize enough in and of itself.
Simply walking away whilst mumbling won't be too much of a problem for me; in my case, it's up to you. If however you are deadset on giving the winners prizes, I'd be more than happy to simply get 1 DVD; fraction of the original prize, and hell, it'd help me grow my DVD collection, since I just got me a player :E

Worry not, Fu11. :) You've been a good egg in running around trying to get these prizes for us, and that's all we can really ask for. :D

'Just 'cause someone at GP cocked up, doesn't mean you should fork out over it. I'm sure whilst we all would've liked to get a voucher, it's not the biggest loss in the world to be honest. Besides, it isn't like we paid to enter the contest or anything. Basically, we got an idea to go write something, which is prize enough in itself. :E

DVD? I'd need a DVD player first. :)

Fu11, I'm serious - don't worry about it. No prize, but so what? Writing that was a laugh anyway... I write all the time on my own and don't get prizes for that. So, really, it's no loss to me. I had some fun writing, with any luck everyone had some fun reading the entires (not mine, maybe, but the two poets over there... :)), so all in all it's been a bit of fun for everyone.

So, ta for organising the compo. You don't owe us anything, like. :)

It's been a long while since I was on this forum, so I was pretty surprised to see something related to the poetry competition still floating around... My sympathies to all three "prizewinners" and Fu11 if you've been messing around trying to sort it out all this time. Ah well, it can't be helped, and it's incredibly generous of Fu11 to be willing to dig into his own pocket... I doubt I would have :)

Well Docceh's received his CD, I received a mail from him this morning, Most of it was exclaimation marks, so :E

Silent's DVD should be arriving shortly, for everyone's information, He got Pitch Black, and Docceh got Rammstein - Mutter on CD :)

Aerobob is trying to get me to donate his prize cost to the Charity event we ran on Air Attack a few months back, but I'm trying to convince him otherwise, S'only fair he gets a CD, too.
