View Full Version : Will you be buying Pokémon Stadium 2?
I prolly wont, but will any of you?
I won't either.
To be honest I think Pokémon and Game Boy are the only things keeping Nintendo at a high profile.Their dismal performance with the N64 selling 12 times as less than the PSX lost them a lot of their reputation. The N64 was never consistent enough to be worth buying. You would get a good game, complete it in about a month, then you would have to wait ages before the next one.
Nintendo have a poor track record for punctuality(late releases, cutting prices without warning so kids waste Ł100).The Gamecube will make or break Nintendo as a top contender. And if both the PS2 and the X-box thrive than Nintendo would be well advised to stick at what it is best at:producing the Gameboy.

I probably will, I mean I like Pokémon because of the Game, and it looks good.
I have been a Nintendo fan since it all began, & know their reputation has changed a lot.
Nintendo led the way in computergames until the Playstation came along, outselling the Megadrive, Master-System & Gamegear (the only true competitors) in every country. The PSX had a brilliant marketing campaign, which combined with the console being good, ensured the Playstation's popularity. They delayed launch of the N64 had cost it to lose popularity, as punters were not keen to wait, & bought Playsations.
Also the N64 still used cartridges, which was a big mistake. The playstation's game CD capacity far exceeded the cartridge's.I actally think the Playstation is superior to the N64, not only because of the CD Audio and FMV, plus the capacity for far more stuff, but I think the games were better, and not only that, there were more of them, a lot more. Also, I have to say that I liked the mega drive better than the SNES, I just liked to play it, especially the sonic games, where as SNES games never seemed to interest me.

What about Super Mario World? Yoshis Island? Mario Kart? All better than their N64 equivelents IMO, and to think, I never played any of the Metroids, Final Fantasys or Zeldas (I played Link's Awakening on GB tho, better than the N64ones, I don't see whats so special about those.)
Ah, the old SNES V Megadrive arguement.
The problem was the megadrive didn't have any memorable games exept for Sonic.
The SNES had all the Mario games, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Dragonball Z, Gundam, StarFox/StarWing, etc.
Anything good on the megadrive had a better version on the SNES, the most obvious example being Street Fighter 2, since 6 attack buttons are better than 3.
And then SEGA had to mess it up with the Saturn and Dreamcast.Every time I hear someone say the DC is good I just want to laugh in their face. All of their good games are on other formats such as PC and PS2.So buying a DC is a waste of money if you only want it for the games.
The SNES is my favorite console ever and has better games than the PSX and the N64.
Gundam
That counts as a good game? Seriously? Are you sure?
Street Fighter 2
The MD version was designed for the 6 button pad.
Also the N64 still used cartridges, which was a big mistake.
That was the worst possible mistake they could have made IMO, with the way that they made a mess of marketing the N64 being the second.
As for the original question, maybe, but I doubt it.
