Anyway...

Pokémon has already lasted nearly two years now, which is very long for a "fad" and even if all the kids stop watching the TV program, the best bits (The Games) don't need popuality to be released to people who need them. (Look at Army Men, nobody likes that but it's still here)

So the bits that matter will last IMO :)

Nintendo have made Mario last this long, they can make Pikachu last too.
