Now we all know that Skoda's are great cars, for something cheaper than a Golf you get quality and gubbins galore that actually make it a better car than the Golf.

But faced with the choice off either choosing between a Skoda Felicia or a Volkswagon Golf what would you choose?

Im stumped, despite the fact that its cheaper and better I still dunno if I'd take the Skoda, its got THAT Skoda badge y'see.
But then, the Golf IS more expensive and not quite as good.

What would your choice be?

Get a second hand Golf. You'll be able to sell it in a couple of years without loosing too much value, but the Skodas don't hold their value much at all.

If you really want a new one, you could always try rebadging it with VW badges! I reckon it'd work for the Passat look-a-likes!

Golf, it works out cheapr once you take into account depreciation.

But then again, quite honestly, I'd rather drive a Skoda, give all those muppets a good pasting in my Octavia RS :E

 Golf or a felicia?????? The felicia was a complete dog of a car !

Mr Piglet you could pass me all you want at least iam not in a skoda :E

They may churn out decent cars which are good value for money nowadays but they still look crap and they will never shift their image !

I would get a golf ! Yes for the price of a skoda you would get an engine that struggles to move it heavy ass into motion and a bit of a crap specification but at least you wont get me and many others pointing and laughing at ya ! :E

I suggest you buy neither...

...they're both ugly and the golf is overpriced.

The only golfs worth attention are the MK1 and II gti's and then only the 8 valves!

After that they just turned into heavy, boring cars...

Why not get one of those Seats... nice looking car and Top Gears reckons them quite highly.

Its a stigma that Skoda will never shake off im afraid. Well in this country at least. The UK is such a badge/tag obcessed country we dont see past the image and look at what makes up a good car. :[
At the end of the day the Skoda brand is aimed at older ppl who put VFM ahead of percieved street cred, and theyre shifting quite a few units recently so they (VW/Skoda) cant be worrying to much about what the 'boy racers' of the world think about there marketing techniques :)
Personally I think the new Golf looks crap, bloody wheels look far to big and the price is like

I always thought itd be funny to get one of the pre-VW skip style skodas and put a killer engine in it before pullin up along side a ford cosworth at the lights and leaving it standing. Id love to see the look on their faces.
:shakin: to them
