View Full Version : Crouching Tiger region 2 - not impressed
Not really talking about the lack of good extras, but the way the disk has been put together.
I just can't stand these menus, they take forever to do anything. Click on one of the options on the main menu and you have to sit through half the bloody film before opening the next page, the bits they show seem to be completly random and are completly unrelated to each other.
I also found the menus really unresponsive.
Would have liked a better making of feature too :)
Not impressed with this DVD (other than the film), could have been so much more.

i havent really got round to the extras yet but i see your point about the menu
i do like menus that try something and show a little clip or move or have a soundbite when you click something but like you said the clips are too long - also most have the same clip and then another added on - one clip for each option added on would have been good enough
i thought the extras sounded good- i especially look forward to the commentary - and i was glad that both language versions were available on the disc
overall im not complaining :)
You will find the commentary rather amusing, it basically consists of and Lee chatting about irrelevant things and Schamus taking the p155 out of the film, which in a way i feel undermines the enjoyment of the film. Even though it is my second fave film ever.

if you want SLOOOOOOOOOOW menus - try the league of gentlemen series 1- very unresponsive and slow
The menus are quicker than in Buffy Season 2 (as pointed out above) - but I don't find that it detracts from the quality of the film.
What I don't like is when discs list animated menus and chapter selection as an extra with sod all else to mention.
With the Buffy discs I've found that two of them are not liked by my player which I find a bit odd. I have to skip to the relevant tracks with the goto (also had this with 1 of the discs in season 1).

i generally dont mind the animated menus,i feel it adds to the discs value for money.

 I find its okay, watching it (the menu cutscenes) two or three times is fine, it's not like you sit there watching it over and over again. So it doesn't bother me.
Too Right!!!!
