Being kicked by server

Server is down at the mo' for a patch - shold be back up after 11.30.

I've only just installed AO, but so far, I'm not too happy.

It took me several attempts to create a character, as I frequently get kicked saying "server contact lost" or whatever.

I've finally got into the game just now, but it didn't last long - I got shunted back to the login screen yet again. Sometimes I can't even login - it just times out.

Is anyone else having similar problems? I'm assuming it's because of demand and the fact that this game will probably take a while to settle down.

BTW, I'm on ntlworld cable modem.
