Hi, I have played Ultima online for about a year now and am having problems with logging in, i am also reayd to try different games, those who have played Ultima probably know it is easy to get bored after a certain amount of time playing it. From a friend i heard about Anarchy online. I just needed general ideas and a basic outline of what the games about and whether it's what it's made out to be.
If anyone doesn't mind sharing their views and opinions i'd be grateful for your help.
Thanks :D

More like EQ than UO i would say, although i only played EQ for a week or two so well em, moving on...
There is no chopping down trees :) Its all about fighting. Although some trade professions, but not really workable until you get to a high level as i understand it (if they work at all atm). Game view is like EQ really, massive play area, split into 3 faction areas, smashing graphics, loads of ways to make your character individual from profession to breed type to skin colour face type etc.
Basic premise of the game is to progress through the levels. 200 in all. You do this by gaining experience. Once you level you get skill points to spend on the skills you want to improve (profession types mean some skills are cheaper than others to raise etc). Its not like UO in that sense whereby you improve your skills by using them, rather by increasing the skill points yourself, once your reach a new level.
You gain Exp points by killing things and completing missions. Killing bigger things as you progress (i'm still on wabbits :imubash: )
Teaming is a very important part of the game too. If you team you all get XP points from your kill, which actually helps the game be friendly i think. Whereas UO was very much a solo oriented game, this is defo team based. I know we all teamed in UO and went around in groups, but you'll see what i mean when you get AO (which you definately should)
Question is when you should get it. At the moment its still buggy and at peak times it is terribly slow. But Funcom seem to be working on that atm, news today of them opening up another server.
Anyway hope that helps abit.

Thanks alot thats really helpful :)
I enjoyed Ultima alot, that type of game is really my thing but i find things like Half life and tfc good too, is it like either of them in the fighting part?
Graphics are the same size as tfc kinda thing but the battles aren't really similar at all. No RJ'ing. ;) You target something, then initiate the attack...or be attacked. Then it's die rolls based on what weapons your wielding and how quick they shoot..or how quick you can bash em. :D Better weaps blah blah you know the drill.
It's definately no FPS. It's UO...with fat ass weapons...VERY nice graphics...pot plants and fit chicks with nice bottoms, pigtails and hotpants runnning infront of you... :E
an MMRPG that I'd really like to see is Necromunda (the Games Workshop Gang warfare rpg/wargame :D). I dont really like Games Workshop stuff too much (although they are fun to paint) and havent played it for ages but Necromunda would be perfect for an MMRPG, it has tons of weapons, a stong background, one or two huuuuuuuge (hive) cities with populations of billions and all sortas of areas from the standard run down slm areas to the prosperous Spires and the dangerous toxic depths of the underhive... ;)
It could be the best rpg ever! I would prefer the combat system to be deus ex stylee though, you fight like an fps game and do all the aiming and stuff yourself (and can use stealth equally as well as powerful weapons, just like Deus Ex :E) but you need to spend exp points on your weapons to be accurate with them ;)
...
Not particularly sure why I brought that up but that would be the rpg of my dreams...only with less naked wimmen ;(
