I have a litle bit of a problem...Im sure you nice, intellegent IRC folk will help me :)


Right now, my normal PC isnt working. Thus, to access the net, i have to use my dads laptop.

I need to use IRC for a meeting tommorow, and i thought i would use http://irc.gameplay.com to acess quakenet thingy,

When i click on "launch gameplay chat" A new window comes, but instead of the "enter your nickname" screen, theres just a box with a red cross at the top left hand corner...this happens with invalid picture URLs...But i didnt think it would do that for irc...I have tried right clicking it, but nothing happens.

I would have thought it would be somewhere in tools, internet options, security, custom level...but i cant see anything in there that seems to relate with the problem.

Seeing as the meeting is tommorow, i pleeeeeead with you to try and help me relativley quickly.

download it , then delete it once yer finnished, or use another java applet , http://www.clanintern.com/chat.php4?clan=38726 < thats my clan one , just type in the normal /join #plzcanihavemybannannanowplztnxta:) :E

The only thing I can think of is that your java has been disabled, but that can't be it, because you've already checked your settings. Try taking another look; you may have overlooked something by accident.

http://irc.gameplay.com/ and http://irc.wireplay.net no longer work as they attempt to connect to irc.gameplay.com which doesn't work :)

So no point in trying them anymore.

It does work, I have it running now. It may have problems running on some BT based POPs, especially Wireplay Direct.

irc.gameplay.com works fine most of the time but my IDENT is buggered up :)
