..since it was upgraded to 1.1? :)
It keeps calling me names and hitting me with sticks ;(

Well the Pings where are bit high last night, but seem ok now.
other than that there going along just fine!! :)
only down side i have about the server, is its full of gimps tk,ing etc.
Dunno whats happend but i get perminated 999 when joining it on an empty server its like BY now ;(
looks like im stuck to playing on jolt unles i figure out whats giving me this massive ping
btw this is something that has stoped me playing on BY for a long time and ive not been able to recreat the probem with other servers till now
jolt still plyas fine as does barrysworld so its got to be something with my setup and somethign with by/wireplay server setups im gona do a clean install of OS and computer to see if that fixes the problem and lets me play on the 2 servers
Have you always got that on the WP server m8? :)

Just been on the server, and getting pings of around 400-600 some times alittle more.
Connection - isdn & with the 1.1 patch installed.
Also getting the connection icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
I was on it last night (from home) and it was much better (no zombie clients with 999 pings).
Tried tonight. Got pings of 20-30 on a cable modem :D
Mind you, I was the only person on the server at the time :rolleyes:
Tried on my BT Anytime connection just now and was getting ping of 200 which would be about right for that ISP.
Others on the server where showing around the 100-165 mark.
I haven't patched to 1.1 yet... you might want to try it with and without the patch Intron.
You can connect to the server without patching up? :confused:
Yeah, only because there aren't drastic changes I think.

Yes Razz, you dont have to have the 1.1 patch to play on the server.
I've tried it with the patch and without it, same story with high pings, but im fine on other servers like bw, jolt etc.
Just played a full game with pings of 30-40 (cable).
Modem users seem to get 100-150 (not as good as it should be - use the wp dialup instead, it's really fast)
Ice-man: I can't understand yr pings. Post a tracert maybe.

Regarding Intron's problem...
I did a quick comparison of the WP server and a couple of Jolt and BW servers...
Jolt haven't upgraded to 1.1 but BW have so I guess it's not that.
Jolt are running on Linux but BW are on Win so it can't be that.
The only real differences server wise seem to be in the settings:
g_bluelimbotime : 30000 vs 20000
sv_maxclients: 33 vs 18
sv_maxPing: 0 vs 700
sv_maxRate: 8000 vs 7000
sv_privateClients: 1 vs 2
:confused: thing is, if those setting were the problem then I'd have thought I'd be getting the same kind of symptons on a modem too, but I don't on either the WP dialup or a BT connection.
I've previously had problems where RTCW took forever to get on to the server and when it did I automatically got a connection interrupt, but after wising up and removing Win ME and clearing a bit of space on my HD, I haven't had it since...
I'm tempted to blame everything on WinXP. I've yet to meet anyone who has had a good experience with this OS :bomb:
In gamespy my wp ping is 60-70ms, compared to the next best which is blueyonder (120-140ms) - and this is using a blueyonder cable modem :confused:
I still think Win98SE is the best OS to use. WP servers are using Win2K, but this may change soon.
I have XP and I think it rocks :D

Slam thats what i was going to do but i was lazy compare them all :)
it really does my head in that i cant get a decent conection and i cant work out why Jolt is fine why are BY and Wireplay crapping out ;(
im goona do some more trace routes to each of them and also compare them better see if i cna work out whats up
