I'm just wondering if they are broken? Pings do seem rather high, jolt suffers from high pings also, the only servers I've found are barrysworld so far that are ok. Where does the problem lie?

My trace route to wp gets 140 ish yet in game its anywhere from 180 - 300 and all the other players pings follow suit.

Cheers

Aye, ping goes up once in game, especially if u have a lower spec machine. U have to remember that the machine has to deal with all the graphics and physics of CS once ur in game, as well as sending and receiving information from the server. This means that while in HLSW it may register my ping as being 140, oncce in game its closer to 240 as I have a relatively lo-spec machine.

I have a 1gig athlon & geforce 2 gts, It cant be that, especially as barrys is ok.

Yes im on them as well, I often get pings around the 250-300 mark on my tweaked diamond supra while on the OCUK clan server hosted @ Hexus.net i often get 180-200 and if lucky 150.

It seems to get a bit better at night but they dont seem to bad on other servers just wireplay. Lots of choke modereterly high ping but no loss says netgraph. Modem conect speed 42,667 bps.

hmm... can you both do trace routes to 62.105.80.10 for me please? That way I can find out where the problem is.

(to do a trace route, open a dos box and type "Tracert 62.105.80.10")

after 11:20 pm my ping is fine before its b0rked

get 49333 / 48000 usually

this is just generally, no particular svrsthough i seem to get 800-1400 ping to by svrs and 300 to bw so i presume its a router/network problem

personally i blame bt, they bound to be invloved somehow
