I can handle rules like no team killing, no respawn spamming etc. I have always stuck to those type of rules, they make perfect sense.
What I am against is people trying to enforce unwritten rules like: you cannot dm in that area of the map, you cannot backtrack, you cannot defend as a medic, you cannot attack as a HW Guy, you cannot camp there, there are no TFC/CS/DoD leagues in the world that have these rules because they are just plain crazy and unenforcable. Yes, I may have lost some friends because of my views, but when a player logs on they should be able to play what they want and where they want without a barrage of verbal abuse.
Why does everyone think I am against the important written rules like "No Teamkilling" I am not at all.
Now can I stay Bloke? Or shall I still "bog off"?

You cant be medic as theres no class like that in the mod, latley there have been many peeps runnin around just dm'ing, bit lame as its team scores that are important not personal goals.
Youve made a grave for yourslef in tfc upsetting peeps so thats why ive posted short and sweet.
There are servers with even more rules than wireplays, believe me ive played on them...stick to the basics and thats fine...act a muppet in game and well youll find yourself getting kicked..simple as that,and that goes for everyone.

Fair enuff m8, stick to the normal rules and youll get a good game, cant say any more than that.
well if you plan to run around randomly shooting people you wont last long. You see this is a team game, and you need the support of your team.
You dont survive long if you go it alone.

Oh dear, another case of someone putting words in my mouth, where did I ever say that I would run around randomly shooting people???
Please read what I am saying Kiwi, I agree totally with the sensible rules like no tking and repeat offenders should be banned. But if some wants to do their own thing like camp (an example, note I am not saying that I will camp myself) then they should be able to do so without being abused or banned. Everyone has their own style of play, if this means dming on the bridge (a TFC example not o DoD example) then that is their style.
Rules like no dming and no backtracking suck because they just cause more problems than solutions.
P.S. This is purely gametalk mate, I have nothing against anyone personally here.

seriously though, i dont know all the stuff thats gone on in the past with rex, and frankly i dont give a damn, but lets just see how he goes with dod before all jumping on him.
yes yes i know your all gonna say hes had enough chances in the past but please for the sake of the dod forums lets not bring it all over here.
next thing youll know youll have people coming over who have no interest in dod just here for the flames.
tbh we dont need that, were trying to build a community here, a happy friendly community.
and before you all say well why did he come here then, i spose if some people didnt post things like "oh rex please dont start posting on the dod forums" which i saw someone do(cant remember who) , then hes bound to come over just to annoy people who he dont get on with.

Just a note to the DoD people that do not know me.
I have been playing TFC for a long time and it is a great game.
There are established and acceptable rules in TFC like no team killing and no respawn spamming. I totally agree with these rules and always play by them.
The problem is one day some people decided that they did not like to get shot at when they were attacking the flag so they made up a rule to suit themselves called "no backtracking". This effectivley means that you cannot shoot at someone entering your base. Not content with this they then went on to make up a rule called "no dming in the middle of the map" so life would be even easier for them. I always be against these made up rules, there are no leagues in the world that play to these rules, it is just that certain people don't like getting shot at!?!
When I play DoD I will be totally civilised, I will never team kill or respawn spam, and I will always play by the server rules but that is as far as I go.
If I want to experiment by playing a certain class in a certain place or if I want to shoot at someone I will do so, whatever area of the map it is, that is my perogative and nobody elses.
So there you have the facts, I look forward to joining you all in the near future.

Actually Rex, I happen to agree with you about those stupid rules for tfc, but that is why they have a pathetiquette (sp?) server.
Leave them be, if that is how they want to play then so be it.
I think the problem with you is your inflated ego. Just keep it nice and easy and the Dod forum peeps will mostly treat you with respect. Just leave the mud throwing for the TFC forum.
So heres a warm welcome to the Dod forum.:D
