Well seeing as we all enjoy a good WW2 romp I thought id post my views on this "best fps since halflife type thingy"
The first 3 main missions, and sub missions are truly wonderful, I wholeheartedly agree with every review on this.
Very atmospheric, AI giving orders etc...a joy to play.
The D-Day mission is a sight to behold...its Saving private ryan in a pc game, really good fun.
Then the missions start to go down the pan a bit....the tank driving one especially...its a console fans dream come true, nearly 3rd person on a tank blowin donkee up...boring.
Surely a little imagination here would of made this part of the game better, a nice inside tank sight, smoke from discharged shells making the screen foggy etc, but no you just ping around on a tank firing at buildings.
"oh look theres a baddie-bang" and he just dies...no blowing him to bits, no shell crater in the ground.
After the this it all goes to pot, same old objectives, run round, blow things up in a linear fashion etc...all got a bit boring im afraid.
And the ending, well I was particularly disappointed...no thought seems to have gone into the latter missions.
Perhaps the guys who designed the first 3 main ones were so chuffed they went out for a beer, got locked out of EA's building and a YTS chap finished the game off, thats how it feels im afraid.
Overall its too linear, no real puzzle solving, turn this, turn that, its the red flashy thing you cant miss it.
As i said, the 3 main ones at the start are great fun, these missions are the best I have ever played on a PC game..but the lack of imagination on the latter few really make it fall short in the "wow what a game" award.
Just my thoughts here, no one elses, but if only they had put a little bit more imagination into it...oh it could of been the best game ever.
Bloke...official "it could of been sooo good but its a bit poo overall" type person.
