View Full Version : Restoring image thumbnails in Windows2K...

Hi

First off, I know this isn't a techie forum but I didn't really know anywhere else where I could put it, and this is probably one of the most looked-at forums.... :)

Anyway,

I installed MS Office 2000 (legit guv, honest) and it installed some piece of ****e called "Photo viewer" and that took over the handling of most image files....so now I've removed that component, and my thumbnails don't work anymore. :< I've tried changing the "always open with" from the choose program list, and the images open fine, but there's no thumbnail preview in folders like "My Pictures". :cry:

I liked the thumbnails.....that folder of mine is over 100mb in size and has nearly 1000 files in it (the fountain of all my signatures), so looking at loads of icons isn't much use anymore....

Anyone know how to fix? :>

I posted it here cos it's got allsorts of people in it, plus the chances of it actually being seen on one of the other forums are about the same as the chances of me winning a wet T-Shirt competition against the entire female line-up of SClub7.

I got the same thing a while ago. My thorough investigation of the problem (*cough* Google */cough*) yielded this (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q243401) MS Support page. :)
