Water Skimming in TFC :E ?

Erm I sorta come across a nice and easy thing in TFC. Some of you prolly know it or do it subconsiously, but for those who dont know about it...

If you propell yourself from a conc or gren onto the water, you can maintain speed for as long as the water goes on by holding the jump button. Use strafe to steer.. WEEEe im a boat :F

Unless someone could make a map like well but instead of lifts you could have little water tunnels that made their way up to fr :D

most of the above are valid comments, but remember i iz only showing the ppl who not encountered it before :) . I also missed out one thing that if the water is not very deep like cz2 then u have to hold duck as well.
one last thing, its possible to conc as a scout from round corner of water on of_l and water skim up to the ramp and off it onto flag, in a sorta variation on defrags glide conc but using water skim, might try and get a demo of that too. :)

I've known about the ability to glide on water for a while, but never thought to conc onto the surface with the intention of keeping the speed, thanks for this :)

i only found out bout this a couple a month back but tbh... isn't it really fking stupid summit this simple wasn't discovered at the dawn of tfc !

cz2, op_l only maps its effective, plus through the well tunnel but thats very difficult to do tho it can be done

what's the openfire one then? Best I can do is hit the deep water @ the bridge then bounce off the lip around to the btm of the ramp by wallstrafing a little

After watching spuds demo i had a go at this water skim, got used to it, then accidently came accros this very cool little move for openfire. You can see it here, tis only small:

Me and spud were also trying the conc where you conc glide as scout through tunnel on openfire, bounce of ramp up too flag, only person i seen do this in a demo was afx maybe?. Dahm sweet move, Demo of that coming soon hopefully :P

Yeah I knew about water glide but never tried it. Just did and it works a treat when carrying a flag as scout.

Also watched Defrag's glide demo(s) and the OF_l is nice.

aye, course it has been around for ages, but why dont we see more people doing it then? Its useful in a few maps such as the ramp slide is, so add it to your growing list of tricks and skills :)
For some reason on of_l i found it worked better as a med rather then a scout in some places? Maybe thats just me then...
And defrag, you've shown me plently of things in TFC that have helped me loads and so im only too happy to return the favour albeit in a very small way :)

I think cz2 is the only really useful place to use it (I reckon it could save up to 10 seconds an attack :)

water skimming as soldier is funny as f*ck on Cz2, go soldier and crouch RJ in the canal, then repeat..... it's like wacky races or something. I might even make a map for it :E
