View Full Version : AaB webby, the future and other stuff
Lo guys, u might have seen me and the boys around on the server. We decided all being well and EA not screwing this up that we'd put together an AaB BF clan and hopefully play against/along side some of u guys in the future. Seeing AaB started on wireplay back in the day when we had to pay £9.99 to dial up we decided to come back and play on here again if you'll have us. Some of u might remember us from the old HL/TFC days, we dont take ourselves to serious and are all pretty good friends.
We've been together for 3 1/2 years now and we fully intend to carry on as long as we can still see the screen and remember what day it is :)
I'm really hoping we can get a decent league off the ground for what i hope will be the CS killer. AaB are pretty commited like i say providing the game is stable *gets down and preys* so if anyone requires any assistance in the future with clans, a league or what ever drop us an email.
I suspect when the game is released this forum will go mad and become another 1k post a day one like the old TFC forum back in the day so I thought we'd get in early and say hi :)
I hope:
A) the game is stable and gets improved ala HL.
B) We can get a good league going with plenty of servers to play on.
C) have alot of fun :)

Thanks for posting that Indeever, we are currently having a good look around and checking out the options including this one. The very odd lack of league interest is very surprising considering the activity on UK servers (almost all full in the evenings).
The trouble as it is at the moment is we dont have enough UK servers to play on and WarDomain havent listed what servers they intend to use. Another detail is they are "leaning" towards CTF...which quite frankly is the least played game mode for BF and not one we intend on playing.
ATM we have a dam fine list of players who are very good at what they doo...we need a few more though but we cant attract them until we find a league. BW are about the closest atm but it can be a little offputting joining a clan and then finding out u have to pay to play in the league so we're trying to avoid BW unless its our only option.
If wardomain list their full intentions and they suit us we'll join up. I hope they do because they seem to have a good plan. Right now we're sitting it out and waiting :)
Ooo forgot to mention..Hiro u are most welcome m8, If u and the HB boys want to join forces drop us an email. That or register on our forum...

I think we got an ex HB member already in the form of UKmuppet/shiner. Our current lineup is full of blasts from the past...we even got Mr Dunc "ffs!" Idaho back :)

everyone seems to be waiting for someone else to start a league up. I dont think its ever down to the providers, BY/BW/WP, it always seems to be a member of the communty that sets things rolling.
Dont really want a league right now anyway, would just like some proper games involving tactics and communication :)
Defenitly need a home though, HB are a little thin on the ground these days. Need someone to play with :)

well, the best leagues are from the guys who play the game.
and about a league now.
yes it's to early.
clans need to form.
guys need to know each other and etc.
but already making it, is no problem.
btw, wardomain has some questions to the players himself.

Hi, to be honest, we're taking into account the fact that the game is still young. Clans are still forming. There is a poll and thread on the WD forum concerning gametypes, rules, etc. - please let your voice be heard! :) We need to know what everyone wants.
It could be that we run all conquest, or all CTF, or a combination of both (leaning one way, the other, or down the middle!). So many options, let's see what everyone thinks.
As for CTF, remember one thing - it's not had the server support so far, and whereas Conquest games are great for publics, for leagues CTF games are slightly more structured. Essentially, you can play a 30 minute game, and look at the score afterwards. In conquest, you have major victories, minor victories, or it could be so long a game that you don't reach the end before a timelimit, or maybe it could finish after only 10 minutes! Harder to structure, but not impossible. Could I maybe suggest a possible Conquest Ladder?
Let me know thoughts on the WD forum if possible, and then we can get all the answers together in one place. :)

Spam and Hiro you're very welcome to come over to AaB and check us out, mebby have a game with us one night(think we are sorting one for sunday). All you have to do is post your interest or register on our open forum and we'll set u up to access the BF one. Like always with AaB we're looking for commited people rather than expert killers(both is a bonus).
If anyone wants a "kickabout" game let us know, we're always open to suggestions :)
